The quieter songs like Last Of My Kind and Tupelo, from Isbell’s latest, The Nashville Sound, were rather more melancholic live, with the former full of longing, more evident than ever in the guitar solo. Cover Me Up, a staple of Isbell’s shows, was utterly different, his raw emotion palpable, the ache of love clearly discernible in his voice.
