Drummer Ted McKenna and bassist Chris Glen, plus guitarist Steve Mann, anchored things, while the colourful Gary Barden warbled through early classics, such as Cry For The Nations and Armed And Ready. Schenker shone on Scorpions\u2019 instrumental, Coast To Coast, before inviting the charismatic Graham Bonnet to sing fit to burst, before a power failure during Desert Song halted the show. Ten minutes later, the band tiptoed back for Dancer and the mighty Assault Attack.<\/p>\n
Robin McAuley proved to be the voice of the night, with thumping versions of Save Yourself, Bad Boys and Love Is Not A Game. McAuley remained for the jaw-dropping Rock Bottom, featuring an exquisite, marathon solo from Schenker. All the vocalists were out for the encores, dipping into UFO nuggets, Doctor Doctor and Shoot Shoot.
