I haven\u2019t found anything really rare yet, but found loads of interesting and obscure goodies. Singles by Buzzcocks, Dukes Of Stratosphear, Johnnie Allen, Teardrop Explodes, Echo & The Bunnymen, some superb EPs by The Joy Strings in picture sleeves which looked like they were just hot off the press in 1964 the condition was that good. And yesterday a fabulous pop psych single by The Poppy Family for tuppence ha\u2019penny. Actually it\u2019s the B-side Endless Sleep that is superb. And some Charlie Parker, Bud Shank and Betty Smith jazz EPs on Vogue.<\/p>\n
And who or what the bloody hell is Midnight Hour by Shades Of Blue Inc on the Life label which looks like a direct Decca US label rip-off design? The only info about that is on 45cat. Nothing about it on Discogs. Great sounding 60s garage with a James Brown vocal soundalike whoever they are. It\u2019s this sort of stuff I love finding and putting in the WTF? box at home for future procrastination.<\/p>\n
Also some Doors and Jim Morrison reissue albums, Roy Orbison, Graham Parker. Always interesting but never, it seems, ultra-rare. But who cares when you are having fun? And I almost bought a Bay City Rollers LP yesterday!<\/p>\n
Yesterday\u2019s found-singles also included (but not bought by me), Gary Numan, A Certain Ratio, Bill Nelson, Stranglers, Killing Joke, Anthrax, Squeeze and Marc Almond, if I remember rightly.<\/p>\n
All the stuff I\u2019ve mentioned above is the bargain stuff as well. Singles between \u00a31 and \u00a34, and albums between \u00a31 and \u00a35. Of course, there is all the overpriced stuff like Queen, Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart and Spandau Ballet (UGH!), but I just try to stick to the bargains. A great place.
