And the festival continues to prove that guitar music is healthiest when every generation shares the same bill. This year’s schedule delivered, with emotional highs, riotous singalongs and a handful of genuinely unforgettable moments.

Beauty School opened proceedings with infectious confidence. Their polished blend of modern emo and alt rock was built for sunlit festival fields, every chorus landing with effortless precision. There was a freshness to their set that suggested that they’re rapidly becoming far more than simply ‘ones to watch’.

Higher Power followed with a bruising reminder that hardcore can still be both intelligent and exhilarating. Their groove-heavy assault had the pit moving immediately, the band effortlessly switching between metallic weight and infectious hooks without sacrificing intensity.

Nervus provided one of the day’s emotional centre-points. Their heartfelt, melodic punk carried genuine vulnerability, with every lyric delivered as though it truly mattered. Rather than simply filling a slot, they created a connection with the audience that many bigger names would envy.

House Of Protection injected a welcome sense of unpredictability. Their industrial-tinged post-hardcore felt raw, urgent and thrillingly contemporary, commanding a surprisingly huge sound that constantly threatened to spill over into controlled chaos.

Irish favourites, The Scratch, demonstrated why they’ve become one of the festival circuit’s most beloved acts. Blending lightning-fast acoustic guitars with trad Irish folk influences, punk attitude and irresistible humour, they transformed the arena into one enormous celebration. Equal parts trad session and mosh pit, the Dublin outfit had thousands clapping, dancing and singing along, proving that originality still counts for everything. Their musicianship remains astonishing, but it’s the sheer joy radiating from the stage that makes every appearance feel so memorable.

Free Throw continued the emotional trajectory with beautifully crafted Midwest emo. Their songs ebbed and flowed between introspective melancholy and soaring release, while the audience responded with heartfelt singalongs that reinforced just how deeply their music resonates.

Jayler delivered one of the day’s genuine revelations. Drawing deeply from the swagger and blues-soaked grandeur of classic rock, their set carried unmistakable Led Zeppelin vibes without ever descending into imitation. Towering riffs, soulful vocals and effortless musicianship combined to create a performance that felt timeless rather than nostalgic. Had a band like this emerged during the golden age of the 70s, they’d have become global megastars. Instead, in 2026, they served as a welcome reminder that classic rock’s spirit can still sound fresh, vital and utterly exhilarating in the right hands.

The Wildhearts reminded everyone why they’ve remained one of Britain’s most enduring rock institutions. Frontman Ginger Wildheart, 61, recently revealed his diagnosis of Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), a rare, aggressive form of blood cancer. Having chosen not to pursue medical treatment, he’s spoken about spending his remaining time with dignity and doing what he’s always done best – creating music and hitting the stage.

Rather than casting a shadow over the performance, the news gave the set an added sense of poignancy and celebration. Ginger and the band delivered a defiant reminder of the healing power of rock’n’roll, mixing razor-sharp power-pop melodies with muscular hard rock and the unmistakable spirit that has defined The Wildhearts for decades. The standout moment came when Ginger’s beloved dog, Maggie, wandered on, prompting huge cheers from the adoring crowd. It was a wonderfully human moment that perfectly reflected the warmth, humour and connection that’s always surrounded The Wildhearts.

Arcane Roots’ long-awaited return was triumphant. Their intricate musicianship remains breathtaking, effortlessly moving between delicate atmospherics and crushing riffs, before exploding into soaring, emotionally-charged crescendos. Every member was completely locked in, reminding everyone just how sorely their unique blend of prog alt rock has been missed. Less a reunion as a continuation of unfinished business.

Closing, Funeral For A Friend delivered the sort of performance that justifies their legendary status within British post-hardcore. Their songs have lost none of their urgency, the crowd roaring every lyric back. The defining moment arrived when Neck Deep vocalist Ben Barlow emerged, lifting an already euphoric atmosphere to another level. It was a fitting celebration of Welsh alt music across generations and an unforgettable finale to Friday.

Saturday continued to celebrate the full spectrum of guitar music, from emerging voices to established acts. Mouth Culture wasted no time setting the tone with a set packed with youthful energy and infectious enthusiasm. Their modern take on punk carries the spirit of classic rebellion, every song arriving with a sense of purpose.

As Everything Unfolds retained the momentum with a powerful display of melodic post-hardcore. Their ability to balance crushing riffs with soaring melodies is one of their great strengths, vocalist Charlie Rolfe commanding the stage.

Marmozets delivered a memorable performance. Frontwoman Becca Macintyre, despite being 30 weeks pregnant, approached the stage with the same fearless energy that has always defined the band. Rather than slow things down, her presence added another remarkable chapter to their story. With their unpredictable blend of technical brilliance, punk spirit and sheer chaos, they reminded everyone why they’re such a unique force in British alt music.

Big Truck brought a welcome dose of raw energy and personality. The project, featuring Laurie Vincent of Soft Play, carries the same unpredictable spirit and uncompromising attitude that’s made his work so distinctive. Rather than feeling like a side-project, the Truck arrived with its own identity: loud, urgent and characterful.

Glassjaw provided a masterclass in intensity. Few bands have managed to maintain such a distinctive identity in post-hardcore, and their performance demonstrated why their influence continues to loom large. Dark, angular, uncompromising, a set of true originality. Every jagged guitar line and explosive vocal shift carried the weight of a band that helped shape an entire movement.

Dinosaur Pile-Up delivered delightfully surreal moments. Their grunge-tinged alt rock guarantees a good time, but watching fans dressed as dinosaurs launch themselves into a mosh pit took the performance into legendary territory. It was ridiculous, brilliant and completely in keeping with the festival’s sense of community.

Cody Frost brought a theatrical edge and individuality, their fearless approach blending vulnerability, aggression and alt experimentation, category-free.

Closing, Neck Deep proved exactly why they’ve become one of the biggest names in modern pop-punk. Their set was a celebration with huge choruses and the kind of communal atmosphere that defines the genre at its best. Thousands of voices joined together throughout, turning every anthem into a shared experience. With the band’s ability to bridge the gap between pop-punk’s classic era and its modern revival, they provided a fitting finale to another unforgettable day at 2000
