    Backstage

    Backstage

Backstage is an open platform for building developer portals

Powered by a centralized software catalog, Backstage restores order to your infrastructure and enables your product teams to ship high-quality code quickly, without compromising autonomy. At Spotify, we've always believed in the speed and ingenuity that comes from having autonomous development teams. But as we learned firsthand, the faster you grow, the more fragmented and complex your software ecosystem becomes. And then everything slows down again. By centralizing services and standardizing your tooling, Backstage streamlines your development environment from end to end. Instead of restricting autonomy, standardization frees your engineers from infrastructure complexity. So you can return to building and scaling, quickly and safely. Every team can see all the services they own and related resources (deployments, data pipelines, pull request status, etc.)

    Brighter

    Brighter

A framework for building messaging apps with .NET and C#

This project is a Command Processor & Dispatcher implementation with support for task queues that can be used as a lightweight library. It can be used for implementing Ports and Adapters and CQRS (PDF) architectural styles in .NET. It can also be used in microservices architectures for decoupled communication between the services. Brighter supports Task Queues. As such it can be used to improve performance by introducing concurrency using a queue, and/or as an integration strategy between Microservices using messaging via a lightweight broker. Brighter provides support for CQRS architecture. It provides a simple library for routing commands and events to handlers. Brighter allows you to offload work from your web process to a worker process via a task queue. This allows in or out-of-process handlers. Brighter can act as a communications library for microservices, allowing commands or events to be passed between services.

    Electron.NET

    Electron.NET

Build cross platform desktop apps with ASP.NET Core

Build cross-platform desktop apps with .NET 5 and ASP.NET NET Core (Razor Pages, MVC), Blazor. Electron.NET is a wrapper around a "normal" Electron application with an embedded ASP.NET Core application. Via our Electron.NET IPC bridge we can invoke Electron APIs from .NET. The CLI extensions host our toolset to build and start Electron.NET applications. There are lots of different approaches how to get an X-plat desktop app running. We thought it would be nice for .NET devs to use the ASP.NET Core environment and just embed it inside a pretty robust X-plat environment called Electron. Porting Electron to .NET is not a goal of this project, at least we don't have any clue how to do it. We just combine ASP.NET Core & Electron. The current Electron.NET CLI builds Windows/macOS/Linux binaries. Our API uses .NET 5, so our minimum base OS is the same as .NET 5.

    Lambda Builders

    Lambda Builders

Python library to compile, build & package AWS Lambda functions

Python library to compile, build & package AWS Lambda functions for several runtimes & frameworks. AWS Lambda Builders also supports Custom workflow through a Makefile. Lambda Builders is the brains behind the sam build command from AWS SAM CLI. Lambda Builders is a Python library. It additionally exposes a JSON-RPC 2.0 interface to use in other languages. Build Actions could be implemented in any programming language. Preferably in the language that they are building. Some build actions simply execute a binary (like Golang) without writing a Go script. We provide a generic Python runner to implement such build actions. A build action is a module that knows how to build for a particular programming language & framework (ex: Python+PIP). Build actions can be implemented in Python or in the native programming language. Each build action has its own design document.

    98.css

    98.css

A design system for building faithful recreations of old UIs

98.css is a CSS library for building interfaces that look like Windows 98. This library relies on the usage of semantic HTML. To make a button, you'll need to use a <button>. Input elements require labels. Icon buttons rely on aria-label. This page will guide you through that process, but accessibility is a primary goal of this project. You can override many of the styles of your elements while maintaining the appearance provided by this library. Need more padding on your buttons? Go for it. Need to add some color to your input labels? Be our guest. This library does not contain any JavaScript, it merely styles your HTML with some CSS. This means 98.css is compatible with your frontend framework of choice.

    AWS SDK for Java

    AWS SDK for Java

The official AWS SDK for Java 1.x (In Maintenance Mode

The AWS SDK for Java v1 is the long-standing, feature-complete toolkit for calling AWS services from Java applications. It provides service clients for nearly the entire AWS surface area, handling request signing, retries, pagination, and error translation so you can focus on business logic. The SDK offers both synchronous and asynchronous clients and integrates with popular HTTP stacks, credential providers, and logging frameworks. Its data models map directly to service APIs, making it straightforward to construct requests and parse responses. Extensive configuration options let you tune connection pools, timeouts, retry policies, and regional behavior for production workloads. Although superseded by v2 for new projects, v1 remains widely used in mature systems due to its broad coverage and stability.

    AWS Serverless Application Model

    AWS Serverless Application Model

An open-source framework for building serverless applications

The AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM) is an open-source framework for building serverless applications. It provides shorthand syntax to express functions, APIs, databases, and event source mappings. With just a few lines per resource, you can define the application you want and model it using YAML. During deployment, SAM transforms and expands the SAM syntax into AWS CloudFormation syntax, enabling you to build serverless applications faster. To get started with building SAM-based applications, use the AWS SAM CLI. SAM CLI provides a Lambda-like execution environment that lets you locally build, test, and debug applications defined by SAM templates or through the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). You can also use the SAM CLI to deploy your applications to AWS. SAM and SAM CLI are open-sourced under the Apache 2.0 license. You can contribute new features and enhancements to SAM on GitHub or SAM CLI on GitHub.

    Blazor

    Blazor

Build client web apps with C#

Blazor lets you build interactive web UIs using C# instead of JavaScript. Blazor apps are composed of reusable web UI components implemented using C#, HTML, and CSS. Both client and server code is written in C#, allowing you to share code and libraries. Blazor is a feature of ASP.NET, the popular web development framework that extends the .NET developer platform with tools and libraries for building web apps. Blazor can run your client-side C# code directly in the browser, using WebAssembly. Because it's real .NET running on WebAssembly, you can re-use code and libraries from server-side parts of your application. Alternatively, Blazor can run your client logic on the server. Client UI events are sent back to the server using SignalR - a real-time messaging framework. Once execution completes, the required UI changes are sent to the client and merged into the DOM. Blazor uses open web standards without plug-ins or code transpilation.

    Buck

    Buck

Build system that encourages the creation of small, reusable modules

Buck is a build system developed and used by Facebook. It encourages the creation of small, reusable modules consisting of code and resources, and supports a variety of languages on many platforms. Buck builds independent artifacts in parallel to take advantage of multiple cores on your machine. Further, it reduces incremental build times by keeping track of unchanged modules so that the minimal set of modules is rebuilt. Buck only uses the declared inputs, which means everybody gets the same results. Buck looks at the contents of your inputs, not their timestamps to figure out what needs to be built. As a result, incremental builds should always be correct, so there's no need to perform a clean build. With buck query, you can better understand your dependencies and what is required to build your product. With buck project, your project can be better understood by your IDE, making you and your team more productive.

    Concourse

    Concourse

Concourse is a container-based continuous thing-doer written in Go

Built on the simple mechanics of resources, tasks, and jobs, Concourse presents a general approach to automation that makes it great for CI/CD. Concourse is designed to be expressive, versatile, and safe, remaining intuitive as the complexity of your project grows. A Concourse pipeline is like a distributed, continuous Makefile. Each job has a build plan declaring the job's input resources and what to run with them when they change. Your pipeline is then visualized in the web UI, taking only one click to get from a failed job to seeing why it failed. The visualization provides a "gut check" feedback loop: if it looks wrong, it probably is wrong. Jobs can depend on other jobs by configuring passed constraints. The resulting chain of jobs and resources is a dependency graph that continuously pushes your project forward, from source code to production.

    Flox

    Flox

Developer environments you can take with you

Flox is a portable, reproducible developer-environment and package-management system that lets you compose and share per-project stacks across the full software lifecycle. Instead of snowflake machines, teams define environments that layer or replace dependencies exactly where needed, then activate the same environment locally, in CI, or on production hosts. The GitHub repo and docs present a developer-first UX, plus integrations such as a VS Code extension that makes activating and working within Flox environments seamless. The ecosystem includes CI building blocks—for example, a CircleCI Orb—to install and activate environments as part of builds and tests. Flox’s messaging focuses on faster onboarding and “time-to-activation,” reducing friction for new contributors and multi-repo organizations. In practice, it functions as both the package source and the environment switcher, keeping toolchains isolated and reproducible.

    Inferno

    Inferno

React-like JavaScript library for building modern user interfaces

Inferno is an insanely fast, React-like library for building high-performance user interfaces on both the client and server. React-like API, concepts and component lifecycle events. Switch over easily with inferno-compat. One of the fastest front-end frameworks for rendering UI in the DOM, making 60 FPS on mobile possible. Isomorphic rendering on both client and server, along with fast-booting from server-side renders. Inferno doesn't have a fully synthetic event system like React does. Inferno has a partially synthetic event system, instead opting to only delegate certain events (such as `onClick`). Inferno doesn't support React Native. Inferno was only designed for the browser/server with the DOM in mind. Inferno doesn't support legacy string refs, use `createRef` or callback `ref` API. Inferno provides lifecycle events on functional components. This is a major win for people who prefer lightweight components rather than ES2015 classes.
