Open Source Assembly Embedded Systems Software for Linux

ELKS is a subset of the Linux kernel that runs on IBM compatible PCs from 8086 up. It is intended to get use out of obsolete old hardware, for use in embedded systems, and as an educational tool. ELKS has been moved to Github to protest SourceForge's installer adware hijacking. This does not directly affect ELKS, but it does affect many major open source projects such as Gimp and FileZilla by attempting to trick the user into installing adware in order to download these programs. AO-RTOS is a pure object-oriented small footprint real-time operating system for embedded devices. The project is using Active Object (or Actor) concurrency model and finite state machine (FSM) design template as implementation base.

This is a port of the Dining Philosopher Problem (DPP) using the Quantum Leaps (http://state-machine.com) hierarchical state machine framework with the Light Weight IP (LwIP) network stack (http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lwip) and an ethernet driver implemented on the STM3220G-eval board (http://www.st.com/internet/evalboard/product/250374.jsp) running on stm32f207 Arm Cortex M3 uProcessor. For debugger and flashing, the ST-Link V/2 was used.

A set of tools to generate and build a customized initramfs, for simple mounting tasks, such as setting up a unionfs system. Written for a small footprint and fast execution. Compatible with both glibc and uClibc.
