gVirtualXRay
Virtual X-Ray Imaging Library on GPU
gVirtualXRay is a C++ library to simulate X-ray imaging. It is based on the Beer-Lambert law to compute the absorption of light (i.e. photons) by 3D objects (here polygon meshes). It is implemented on the graphics processing unit (GPU) using the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). SimpleGVXR is a smaller library build on the top of gVirtualXRay. It provides wrappers to Python, R, Ruby, Tcl, C#, Java, and GNU Octave. -

SPINA
Structure parameter inference approach for endocrine feedback control
SPINA is software for the rapid, reliable and accurate determination of constant structure parameters of endocrine feedback control systems. It is a class of static function tests that require nothing more than steady-state concentrations of hormones or metabolites obtained in vivo. The first version of this cybernetic approach had been developed for the evaluation of the functional status of the thyroid gland, i.e. thyroid's secretory capacity (gain of thyroid, GT or SPINA-GT) and sum activity of peripheral deiodinases (GD or SPINA-GD). A second version has been established for insulin-glucose homeostasis. It delivers the secretory capacity of pancreatic beta cells (SPINA-GBeta), an estimate for the insulin receptor amplification (SPINA-GR) and a static disposition index as a measure for the loop gain of the feedback loop (SPINA-DI). Both implementations of SPINA have been validated in more than 50 clinical studies based on large cohorts. -

A graphical user interface to R for use in Clinical Chemistry
This project is a graphical user interface to the R statistical programming language designed for use in Clinical Chemistry. It allows the user to perform Passing Bablok, Deming and Linear Regression and to produce high quality images in any file format for publication. The front end is written in Python 3.3 and PyQt4 and the form was designed using Qt4 Designer. The statistical analysis is written in R. The compiled binary was made with cx_freeze. This software is free and open-source. It is released under the GNU Public license and comes with absolutely no warranty. -

SimAssem
For processing and/or simulating species assemblage data.
SimAssem is a tool for investigating the performances of species richness estimators across widely ranging assemblages and survey designs. Assemblages are simulated by specifying the: 1) number of species, 2) total abundance of individuals, 3) abundance distribution, 4) spatial configuration, 5) species detection probabilities, 6) survey design, and 7) number of grid cells to survey (out of a square grid comprised of 10,000 cells). SimAssem also processes existing encounter data and formats existing and simulated encounter data for other programs. SimAssem, along with the open source code, will hopefully give researchers and managers a tool for assessing the development of new estimators and evaluating potential decisions in a simulated environment. A multi-modeling and simulation environment to study complex systems
VLE is a multi-modeling and simulation environment to study complex dynamic systems. VLE is based on the discrete event specification DEVS. and it implements the DSDE formalism (A merge of Dynamic Structure DEVS, DSDEVS, with Parallel DEVS, PDEVS). VLE provides a complete set of C++ libraries, called VFL (VLE Foundation Libraries), to develop DEVS models, to gets results of simulations, to launch simulation on cluster. The models can be developed with the DEVS formalism or with the classical mathematical formalism: Ordinary Differential Equation with Euler, Range-Kutta or QSS integrator, Finite state automaton (FDDEVS, UML State chart, Hybrid Petri net). The VLE environment provides an IDE to develop C++ models, DEVS coupled models. VLE have also three ports to use the VFL with Python, Java and R programming languages. -

Estimator of climate-driven, mosquito-borne viral suitability index
Understanding how climate dictates the timing and potential of mosquito-borne viral transmission is essential for preparedness of public health systems and design of control strategies. We developed the Mosquito-borne Viral Suitability Estimator (MVSE) software package for the R programming environment. The package estimates a suitability index based on a climate-driven mathematical expression for the basic reproductive number (R0). By accounting for local climatic variables, as well as viral, vector and human priors, suitability can be estimated for specific regions, hosts, vectors and viral species. MVSE v0.3 and v1.01r are available for download in this repo. UPDATE Oct/2021: note that a correction has been made to the documentation of v1.01r. The most recent version is the file "MVSE_v1.01r_corrections_to_documentation.zip". No changes have been made to the code itself. The simple program is a Witleaf handheld pulse oxymeter BIN file format data decoder. It reads BIN-files produced by popular professional pulse oxymeters manufactured by Shenzhen Witleaf Medical Electronics Co., Ltd. (like the WIT-S300 shown in the photo on the project icon) and produces a CSV-formatted output with the extracted data to stdout (gets printed to the console if not directed otherwise).
