FastQC
A quality control analysis tool for high throughput sequencing data
FastQC is a quality control analysis tool designed to spot potential problems in high throughput sequencing datasets. Its goal is to provide a simple way by which to check the quality of raw sequence data coming from high throughput sequencing pipelines. It does this by running a modular set of analyses on one or more raw sequence files in fastq or bam format. It then produces a report summarizing the results, and highlighting any areas where the library may appear unusual. This should then direct you to where your data may have problems and allow you to take necessary steps to correct it before doing any further analysis. FastQC is not tied to any specific type of sequencing technique, so it can be used to look at libraries of various experiment types (Genomic Sequencing, ChIP-Seq, RNA-Seq, BS-Seq etc etc). -

Originally the program was conceived to assess the angle between north and a given point on any map open on the screen, therefore the background of the application window is transparent and the angle is measured from the positive y-axis and clockwise. This software is a very simple network analyzer. When you click the start button, it will send a configurable stream of UDP packets to a host. (The receiving host is then required to echo all the packets back to the sender, which can be easily done via iptables rule under linux). Once the eched packets arrives back to the sender, the analyzer will calculate all the related statistics like, packet loss, jitter throughput etc... NOTE: in order to receive the echo packets you must configure the receiving host to echo the incoming packets. In the next release i will provide another java application that just echo on an UDP port. -

EDM Calibration Baseline Fitting
EDMFit is an adjustment tool to estimate EDM calibration parameters.
An EDM calibration baseline is used to derive specific instrument errors of the electronic distance measurement (EDM) unit of a total station. EDMFit is a simple adjustment tool to estimate the EDM calibration parameters (addition constant and/or scale parameter). The adjustment process is according to ISO 17123-4. The parameters are checked for significance, to avoid an overestimation. Based on two classical hypothesis testing, EDMFit provides a reliable outlier detection. For uncertainties budgeting, EDMFit makes use of Monte-Carlo simulations and supports different distribution function: - Uniform distribution, - Triangular distribution and - Gaussian (normal) distribution. For refractive index determination, the application supports the following models: - Barrel and Sears (1939), - Edlen (1953, 1966), - Owens (1967), - IAG (1999) and - Ciddor (1996, 2002). The results of the adjustment are reported in a template-based and valid HTML5/CSS3 report. -
