From windows explorer, I cannot paste text into a filename from the Quick
Paste popup.
That is, if I have a portion of all of a filename text selected (i.e. press
F2 with a file selected in Windows Explorer), and I press the keyboard
shortcut for the Quick Paste window, the filename selection is lost and so the
paste target cannot be pasted into the filename.
Steps to repro:
1. In Windows Explorer, select a file and press "F2"
2. Press ^~ to invoke the Ditto Quick Paste popup.
Observe that the filename selection is lost and so whatever you select in
Quick Paste window cannot be pasted into the filename.
Is this just a limitation of clipboard utilities? I guess i have to re-order
the paste item to the top of the list and use regular ^V to paste it in?
My OS is Win7 and I have the latest Ditto.
Is there any workaround?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
When you change focus to Ditto you loose the filename. So select the entry in
Ditto, reselect the filename in Explorer and use control_V to paste the entry
from Ditto.

Hi, do I understand well you want to change a filename in Explorer.exe by the content of a clip ?
I have modified the settings file (I use portable versions always), and added in the section of : [PasteStrings]
explorer.exe= {DELAY 50}{F2}{DELAY 50}^v{DELAY 50}

Thanks. That is relatively reasonable workaround though I was hoping for
better :)
Hi Rob, Steve.
Could you find another solution so far?
I'm experimenting the same.
Best regards, Jonathan.
