Re: [matplotlib-devel] doc/make.py clean

I have committed your suggestion to SVN r7849 (0.99 branch) and r7850 
(trunk).  It does exactly what you listed, but using Python functions 
rather than system calls.  Please test in your environment and let me 
know if it's adequate when you get a chance.
