Platypus Content Management System News

Platypus CMS is now tested and modified to ensure the Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility. Some other minor code changes has been made too.

New features include enhancements to LINK tag allowing creation of links to pages published with article.php and located under /id tree. Now other than page.html templates are supported with template name pattern feature.

If you have downloaded your Platypus CMS version 1.2.10 earlier than 15:40 UTC you probably have a wrong release file and/or a wrong patch diff file.

The correct file versions have MD5 checksums:

fa95415cf76429ad729678e5ec8f9c11 *platypus-1.2.10.diff
703812563bef46c47b9172577c3cf4ef *platypus-1.2.10.tar.bz2

If you have a incorrect files and you already have installed them you can download a fixing patch diff file named platypus-1.2.10b.diff and install it. That will correct the error in wrong release file.... read more

Since the previous version Platypus content editor could'n save a new content. This release fixes that fatal bug and corrects and makes some other minor changes to the system.

It was exactly one year ago when I asked Jartza if he (as the original author of Platypus!) would allow me to license the code with GPL and release it in Sourgeforce with name Platypus CMS (or Platypus Content Management). He accepted this and from that moment started to story of public Platypus releases.

Platypus CMS has been used in some Finnish web pages for "ages" and it's always been distributed under GPL.

Few public releases have been available in sourceforge exactly one year but never with proper documentation nor documentation in English.

This 1.2.9 release finally includes valid documentation. I am not going to say that the documentation is understandable or that everything is written in the documents but it has been created anyway.... read more

The product itself is "production capable" and has been used in production environment, though installation and usage is not easy! You have been warned.

The documentation is mostly outdated, deficient and in Finnish...
