PerceptualDiff is an image comparison utility that compares two images using a perceptual metric. That is, it uses a computational model of the human visual system to determine if two images are visually different, so minor changes in pixels are ignored.

  • Never mind, only just noticed this is fixed in https://sourceforge.net/p/pdiff/code/53/ (added after 1.1.1 release).
  • Metric.cpp needs stdio.h header
  • However if you are ok with a stricter comparison you could always convert your videos into static images and just compare frame by frame but I'm not sure if that is what you want. Anything beyond that is beyond scope for me on this free open source project due to time constraints. • Possibly but I don't have time to do it. You'd need to modify the code to use a spatiotemporal contrast sensitivity function instead of the regular contrast sensitivity function. And even then after that it still has to be tested to see if it even works. So the short answer is no, there needs to be research done on it first. I'd Google for some existing video diff tool if it exists. On Tue, Apr 3, 2018, 10:16 AM Babu valuekrab@users.sourceforge.net wrote: is it possible to develop a feature to compare...
  • is it possible to develop a feature to compare two videos. Thoughts, i am looking for it, On Thu, Mar 29, 2018 at 6:34 PM, yeehector yeehector@users.sourceforge.net wrote: It's not set up to diff video, sorry! • amazing application! very good to be used on automation scripts like auto-load savegames; mind creating a .deb package for ubuntu? [offtopic: interesting there is only upvoters comments; I understand downvoters are exercising their freedom of opinion, even if it is non-sense (they dont dare commenting). Downvoters should be obliged to comment so their complaints could be used to improve the project or just revalidated and the vote be possibly set to be ignored by other users votes, increasing back the rating of the project...]
  • One of a kind library out there ! Anything even remotely as powerful is abt 25 times its size !
  • Excellent small program to help evaluate the perceptible difference between images. We even use it for evaluation of video codecs in our studio.
