About Waveform

Waveform is a rapidly evolving application specifically designed for the needs of modern music producers. Specializing in creative and inspirational workflows and avoiding features not explicitly needed to allow the app to remain surprisingly fun and intuitive. While other apps try to appeal to broad user groups, for example film score, live sound, performance – we are laser focused on music production. Waveform Pro introduces the Arranger Track, a remarkably simple yet powerful tool for manipulating regions of your arrangement. Simply create an arrange clip in the arranger track to control the entire region of your arrangement. The arranger track has contemporary features such as magnetic movement, commonly found in video editors, that automatically open and close regions of the arrangement based on your selections. Experimenting with your arrangement and song structure has never been easier.

"Multiple platforms, my favorite plug-ins, no problem!"

    Posted 2024-03-23

Pros: I write and record music mostly for myself, but sometimes I collaborate on the Internet with other musicians. I've used Cakewalk, Reason, Logic Pro, and that brings me to Waveform, because I like working with Linux, Windows, and Mac. Waveform works well on all of them. I like using it, and it has it's own versioning built in, so that you can save things along the way. It does everything I've needed from it.

Cons: I don't like that the width of the screen changes if I absently for get and try to scroll down. I'm sure there's a way to set things, but it is annoying.

Overall: I like it. I keep trying to find something it doesn't have that my other DAW's do, but I really don't encounter it. I think Waveform can do anything you want. It wasn't meant to be a live performance software or a film scoring software. As a writer and an electronic musician, I like that Waveform puts everything I need at my fingertips, and seems to be well written because it is not a bloated software like Logic.
