I've played around with False and True and closed and reopened Ditto. So far no effect.
Hello dear Ditto ppl. Love this piece of software and it's just so useful. Best one out there. Just 1 small request in relation to this thread. Anyone else experiencing on latest ditto v3.24.246.0 that setting False to "Allow duplicates" actually does not work and I end up indeed having duplicates despite that False ... ofc I've closed and reopen Ditto and my whole PC for that sake. Anyone?
think you're the most responsive dev I've ever met .. always quick to reply to any wishes from the users ... this is not the 1st time I'm asking you for a tweak and both times you implemented it just as wanted, which is ... TOP NOTCH! 10X
ya, works really well for now, thanks :))))
will check it out, 10x

The only real reason to have 'search full text' selected is if you are needing to find text in large copied text. By default the description only contains the first 500 characters so the search might not find text in large copies, but 'search full text' would. Also this search can be quite slow. Tested it and indeed it is as you say. That is kind of annoying. Why can't we both search the description AND the unicode text so that we both find search hit after the 500th character and can also search...
OK, I found out it doesn't have to do with the version but rather with disabling the following setting:
Cool! Perfect. This is available in vers. 64bit_3_22_88_0 but not in vers. 64bit_3_21_223_0 Nice improvement :)
Are these forums actually populated or ? I'm asking because we really need the above solution so I need to know if we should wait for a reply or go with something else.
Hi there. Thanks for an awesome clip app. Is it possible that when the list of clip entries is displayed I can set a filter so I only see e.g. images, or only text, or only whatever one certain entry type I wish to filter by?
Long story short ... not doable ... my cpu is hyperthreaded quad core and the ssd is quite speedy too so the bottleneck is not my system ... forget the pen drive, even on the ssd the 15-gig archive would take like 2-3-4 minutes to simply add or del 1 randon file and yes, as I said, that is in non-SOLID mode.
OK, non-solid mode makes ONLY marginal improvements. And it's not my system that's at fault. It's just that the archive is 15gb and it has over 6000 files. I am on a notebook quad cpu i7-2670qm @2.2gz and the drive where I am playing around with the archive is a Samsung 850 Pro SATA-III SSD @6Gb/s. I get that once I place the archive on my usb pen speeds will decrease drastically compared to my ssd, but still. Is there no way to make a pass-protected archive file where one can simply add and remove...

@Shell ... thanks for input. You gotta speak in a bit more laymans terms. From all you wrote I only see 'if you disable solid archiving upon updating, all updated files will be stored independently and their further updates will be faster' as useful/applicable for my case. @Igor Pavlov - thank you for the input. I see that you too are pointing at disabling solid mode. So this seems to do it for now - http://www.ztw3.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=118825.
Fernando ... in laymans terms ... just say this :) http://www.ztw3.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=118825

What compression method to use in order to not recreate whole .7z file when adding/deleting files from/to it? Is it even possible? I have a 10-15gb pass-protected 7z file. I want to be able to add and delete files from it without the necessity of the whole 10-15gb file being recreated/updated. At least that is what I'm seeing now. Everytime I add or del a file the original 7z file needs to sorta be recreated and that takes a LONG time. I played with all Update modes but that didn't help. As to Compression...
