Starfield Animation
Welcome to the Starfield Animations project.
What this is
Starfield Animations is a small tool built by a single amateur, with some AI help, to help you add gently moving starfields to your space images and videos. It is designed to sit alongside your existing workflow and make it straightforward to bring still nebula shots to life.
The aim is to keep things simple, responsive, and fun to use.
Why it’s donationware
The software is released as donationware, meaning it is fully usable without payment, but contributions are welcome if you find it useful. This lets anyone use it regardless of budget, while still giving people a way to support ongoing development if they choose.
This is very much an evening-and-weekend project, and donations help to cover costs and justify continued work towards a stable 1.0 release. If Starfield Animations has helped you produce something you are pleased with, please consider making a small contribution.

Currently two versions are available for download:
- An MSI Windows Installer
- A Windows Portable executable
Beta 0.1.6 adds the options to load starless and starmask images. The stars in the starmasks will be animated independently of the layers and the background can be zoomed into. Also, tooltips!
