Fixed the death animations, which previously just skipped instantly to the final frame when a mobile died. Now it only skips to the final frame if the game is auto-paused or in a dialogue menu (so it's not confusing when you're looking at the paused game). Also, all skulls can now be thrown at enemies like stones.

Mostly I'm just adding assets for Ch.6. Got a bunch of snow tiles and snowy trees and rocks finished. I should have screenshots in about a week.

Complete list of changes:

-Fixed death animations (it used to skip to final frame).

-Death animations now only skip to final frame if game is paused or in dialogue.

-Fixed bug where "pointsUp" command would mess up game messages position.

-New snow tiles and snow-covered sprites of trees and rocks for Ch.6.

-New objects for Ch.6: Wolf Statue, Sundial, Skull Mug.

-You can now throw skulls just like stones.

-Fixed a typo (thanks to soup).

Fixed a bug from a recent patch where character pathfinding was being recalculated every 2 seconds and screwing up direct diagonal paths. This probably increased framerate slightly also.

Also added two new baddies for Ch.6: Dire Wolf and Winter Wolf, as well as some snow tiles. Replaced an annoying sound effect and added some new ones. Also added some animation effects for Defensive Stance and Mad Dash.

I'll work on improving framerate some more in the next patch.

Complete list of changes:

-Fixed bug where pathing were being recalculated every 2 seconds for no reason.

-New baddies for Ch.6: Dire Wolf, Winter Wolf (with sprites, sounds, and scripts).

-Bonus sound no longer plays automatically when skills increase (must be played in script).

-Replaced bonus.wav sound with something less annoying, decreased volume of select.wav.

-New sound effects: defend.wav, madDash.wav, and focus.wav.

-New animation effect objects: defend, madDash.

-Started adding snow tiles for Ch.6.

Added 6 new spells: Ice Wall, Entanglement, Spin Webs, Post Haste, Invisibility, and Dream Spores. Also added icons for all 72 spells that I got from Wenrexia on itch.io and eleazzaar on https://opengameart.org.

Also the Immobile and Slowed status effect now make mobiles appear blue (mostly caused by cold and shock damage, so it works). Added another party side quest for Oakia in Ch.4. New Ice Wall object for the Ice Wall spell. Finally, increased the size of Font #9.

Complete list of changes:

-Improved Gemcrack magic menus so info is displayed on root menu instead of hidden in "Information" option.

-Added 6 new spells: Invisibility, Spin Webs, Ice Wall, Post Haste, Entanglement, Dream Spores.

-Immobile and Slowed status now causes mobile sprite to appear blue (cold and shock effects).

-Added another party quest for Oakia in Ch.4 to gather 5 imprinted gemcracks.

-Added spell icons for all spells in Gemcrack menus.

-New object and sprite: iceWall (for new spell).

-Increased size of Font #9.

Progress so far

Finished Chapter 1 on behalf of the Militia and with only Deb and Seb as companions. (Skipped Feluco as my MC was doing ax throwing berserk stuff, and I wanted added challenge.) It got pretty hard at points, especially since I went after Gug and wasn't operating at max party capacity, but I was able to balance it out with liberal application of explosives. I haven't noticed many bugs that I haven't already reported, but I did notice that the bandits that spawn near the tavern outside Jadenbury immediately ...

Repairing Items with Iron Has Incorrect Education Requirement

The anvil claims that you can repair metal items with iron to keep their max durability, as long as you have 6 education. I created a character with 6 education (and smithing, of course) but when I try to do so it says I don't have enough education. Also, after reloading to verify this, I can no longer use the forge. When targeted, I press the smithing option and it tells me I need to target a Forge/Anvil, which I just did. It still costs meta, even when it doesn't work :P...

Same with the bug reports, I've consolidated the suggestions/changes to gameplay I'd like. Obviously it's from a player perspective, so take everything with a grain of salt. -Certain non-combat interactions shouldn't produce any cooldown, like reading books or using a campfire. -Saved games should be sorted by date saved, with the most recent first. Maybe keep the autosave and quicksave on the front page. -Small explanation should be added as to why you can't travel further North, currently it's just ...
