i just installed the game but i can't run it anyone can help?

Why is there a hidden DRM check inside of game.dat? When launching the game, game.dat runs as a process and makes a check to store.steampowered.com and REFUSES to launch if it can't make this connection. This is the source of the "Failed to send request!", "Failed to fetch Steam App Name!" and "Failed to initialize Steam!" This doesn't seem to be normal Steamworks DRM, as that's handled by steam_api.dll and steam_appid.txt. Is there any way to remove this, and do we know why this is even present? This m...

Seems like this game is the biggest cult classic favorite for a lot of people, aside from maybe Red Alert 2. I'm just wondering what the appeal is since I've yet to really dig in and first impressions are kind of underwhelming. It's not just nostalgia, is it? What does Generals/Zero Hour offer that the other C&C games don't?...
