Frosthaven: Legacy of the Algox is now available!

Our second major Early Access content update, Legacy of the Algox, is now available on Steam! In the new Algox storyline, you will turn your attention to the escalating Algox conflict. An Algox messenger arrives, bringing information about a possible resolution. Now you must decide the fate of the Algox and shape the legacy that will define their future. Something ancient and malevolent stirs beneath the ice.

Legacy of the Algox Features

The Algox Storyline: Help your allied Algox tribe as they negotiate peace talks with their rivals and hopefully gain full cooperation.
New Pet: Complete your collection at the Stables with the most elusive pets, adding a dynamic advantage in battle.
3 New Playable Heroes: Unlock three advanced classes by completing scenarios and implement new diverse strategies into your repertoire.
5 New Bosses: Battle ancient foes, equipped with tactical challenges to overcome.
2 New Biomes: Explore new areas and travel far to expand your ever-growing map.
25+ More Quests: Confront dangerous threats and reveal more of what lies beneath and beyond Frosthaven.
9 Building Upgrades: Enhance and build up Frosthaven even further.
Town Hall Challenges: Complete unique objectives from the Town Hall and increase your party’s capabilities.
31 New Items: Expand the arsenal of your Heroes with new items - both crafted and discovered during the new quests.

Features

Added Legacy of the Algox storyline.
Added three new playable characters.
Added Puzzle Book feature.
Reworked the Outpost attack events flow and design.
Increased building levels for - Mining Camp (up to lvl 4), Hunting Lodge (up to lvl 4), Logging Camp (up to lvl 4), Inn (up to lvl 3), Garden (up to lvl 4), Craftsman (up to lvl 6), Jeweler (up to lvl 2), Enhancer (up to lvl 3), Library (up to lvl 2).
Added 31 new items.
Added 9 new Town Hall challenges.
Added a new pet.
Added Quest Special Rules feature - can be accessed during Tactical gameplay from a button on the right side of the screen. This is still an experimental feature and only a handful of quests are affected
Reworked Tactical side panel for Objectives, Battle Goals and Challenges.
Added starting classes Main Menu themes.

Misc.

Various bug fixes, QoL changes, technical optimizations and stability improvements.

Bug: A progress-blocking bug related to the area boss ‘Lord of Chaos’ in the ‘Spire Summit’ area.

It seems that the Chaos Beam pull-in mechanic of the area boss ‘Lord of Chaos’ in the ‘Spire Summit’ has been changed. However, when the pull-in toward the Chaos Beam direction is triggered, selecting the destination and clicking “Confirm Move” does not execute the movement properly. Instead, the character becomes stuck in a state where no further selections can be made. This issue occurs in both multiplayer and single-player sessions. Please investigate....

We’re happy to share that our second Early Access content update, Legacy of the Algox, will launch on Steam January 22! This substantial content drop includes the newly added Algox storyline, three highly anticipated playable heroes, five bosses, two unique biomes, a new pet, and much more.

With the Unfettered threat finally dealt with, you will turn your attention to the escalating Algox conflict. An Algox messenger arrives, bringing information about a possible resolution. Now you must decide the fate of the Algox and shape the legacy that will define their future. Something ancient and malevolent stirs beneath the ice.

In addition to this epic new storyline filled with political intrigue, three playable heroes enter the Frozen North: “Astral”, “Drill”, and “Shackles”. These classes introduce unique playstyles and abilities that will dynamically shape your party builds and strategy considerations. Also joining these heroes is an additional pet, totaling 11 pets so far for players to discover and capture! Summon your pets from the Stables, bring them into battle, and activate unique and powerful abilities, adding strategic depth beyond standard item cards.

Bug: Cracking Tunnel

When the party partially escapes, the game crashes. I have a party of 3 characters; when two of the characters escape and a single character is left to escape the next round, the game crashes. So far, it has done this in rooms 1 and 2

BUG : Soft locking in Haunted Vault

Numerous times I have been soft-locked after a character ends their turn on a second pressure plate and opens a door. Once with Banner Spear moving characters onto the plates (I was able to proceed with a reload and trying a different way) but now with Prism. I have tried numerous different card combinations after quitting to Main Menu and reloading but so far have not been able to proceed into the next room. Unable to find a rhyme or reason to it; Have tried moving first and then using top, and vice ve...

Fixes:

Re-rolled the unintended Personal Quest for all characters that received it after the patch yesterday.
Duplication of Personal Quests is no longer possible.

Keep in mind that if your quest re-rolled into any other quest that is not the unintended one there are two options:

Continue playing with the newly drawn Personal Quest.
Load a save from before the patch yesterday and continue with your previous Personal Quest.

Bug : top of the spire

Forced movement (to a drifter) who is immobilized is bugged. Character don't move and game is broken. Can't do anything else after it, make the scenario unplayable at this time

Early Access Review

Successor to Gloomhaven but follows the trend where sequels are worse than the first one. Were mid-game currently, 1 retired char and the game has a crazy amount of gimpy mechanics that aren't fun and u can't strategize around like you could in the first game. Examples include a boss that can push you back 3 + squares, plus summon elites that can disarm and have two shields. Every turn he will summon 1 add as well so if you fall behind in add killing which is inevitable, you’re likely to lose. Another example is a class that revolves around traps and setting them up but entering missions where 90% of the enemies are flying and can't trigger traps? Not fun in the current iteration. I will edit the review if they change it though at its current patch 3/10 for me.
