(Note: In the Desert level... The Journal button doesn't work. At all. Not on the controller... Not on the keyboard. Someone said "press RMB"... And thankfully that works. You need it for a puzzle. But that puzzle sucks anyway and the image doesn't resemble what the puzzle needs from you at all!!! >.>)

Well, after having to fix this game due to constant crashes... Which occurred every 30 seconds (Thanks Forum people!!!) -> The game was finally playable.

I can't say I've ever read this book, but since I played a H.O.G based on it... Might as well follow with the story.

So uh I didn't think this was bad. It's first person, which gives me motion sickness and yet... They let me play with a controller... Which allowed me to enjoy it for longer.

I realized this was more of a walking around, find stuff to solve mystery... Instead of getting chased by monsters. But uh... Why did we need a "crouch" button then? XD

I also feel like this whole mystery was just a shell. It gave us everything that WE already knew in RL and ... I wanted to know the "DEEP MYSTERIOUS SECRETS!!!" But I suppose then this game wouldn't really exist... Because they would know too much.

I like the sceneries too... Which was why it took me a while to complete the game. Sometimes I just stared at the running goo. *shrugs*... I am also conflicted as to why touching your own blood sends you back to the Menu. IS THAT A HIDDEN MENU BUTTON?! YAY!

Anywho, it was okay. I am overly curious about the things beyond the veil though. Sadly, I don't know of any hidden doors.

I'll try the book for now. Thanks for the... Atmospheric game? Can I call it that? Okay yeah. Let's go with that!

Tl:dr Clunky and not very engaging.

- Interesting concept as it is based on the story In the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft, just not a very engaging game story around it.
- Not a big fan of the main character voice actor, the others were alright.
- When crouching it somehow messes up the movement most of the time. Walking speed felt kinda slow, but hey they added running! Well only for a few seconds before your clearly asthmatic character runs out of breath. No jumping either, which I assume is because it would lead to a great many cases of getting stuck in this walking sim.
- Most of the time its like you're walking through a picture gallery, because the lack of any enemy or any beings at all is staggering. The whole game also feels like you're just walking from one corridor to another, from a cave corridor to a ruin corridor.
- Some of the puzzles were alright, while others you were supposed to pick up letters with hints to even have a chance at the puzzle. Problem is that those letters would sometimes be on the floor hidden away somewhere not easy to spot.
- It's not the priciest games, but I'm unsure if I'd even recommend this on sale.

The sound design is phenomenal — subtle ambient tones, distant creaks, and whispered echoes that make every moment feel alive in the most unsettling way. There are moments that truly get under your skin, not through loud jump scares, but through mood, pacing, and sheer tension.

Conarium is a rare gem for lovers of atmospheric horror and deep, mysterious storytelling. If you crave games that make you think, feel, and linger long after you’ve left the screen, this is a must‑play.
