This Ludus has been created for all I,Gladiator players who love the game. All players are welcome!

Ludus Magnus
The Ludus Magnus or The Great Gladiatorial Training School is the largest of the gladiatorial arenas in Rome! There were many different types of gladiators in ancient Rome (see announcement). A gladiator who had earned his freedom received a wooden sword (a rudis).

Rudiarius - (Free Gladiators)
What type of gladiator was a Rudiarius? A Rudiarius was a gladiator who had been granted his freedom. His freedom could be obtained if a gladiator bravely distinguished himself in a particular fight or, at some periods during Roman history, had won five fights. The symbol of freedom given to a Rudiarius was a wooden sword called a rudis. The term Liberatio referred to the freeing of a gladiator who had served his time as a gladiator and fulfilled his contract.

The Gladiatorial Games
The games had a political purpose. The more spectacular the games, the greater the enjoyment of the 'mob' and the greater the popularity of the man who had sponsored the games. The sponsor of the gladiatorial games was called the Munerarius (Editor or Editores). During the period of the Republic a wealthy and ambitious politician would 'buy' the votes of people, and increase the standing of his family, by sponsoring games. By the end of the Roman Republic Julius Caesar owned so many gladiators that the Senate, realising that so many Gladiators were equivalent to a "private army", passed a law limiting private citizens to owning no more than 640 gladiators. It would be reasonable to assume that some of these gladiators, the best in Rome, would have been a Rudiarius. After the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC and the start of the Roman Empire the roman emperors and the state financed most of the games.

Become a Rudiarius - the Ceremony
The Ceremony surrounding the granting of the wooden Rudis and therefore creating a Rudiarius was fairly unusual. It provided a diversion for the crowd and required due pomp and ceremony to be associated with it. The munerarius (editor), possibly the Emperor, would go to the center of the arena and give the wooden sword (rudis), the symbol of freedom, to the brave gladiator, signalling that the gladiator was no longer a slave, but a freeman - a Rudiarius. The crowds would cheer and the Rudiarius would walk from the arena as a free man and one that was idolised by the 'mob'. A Rudiarius could never be Roman citizens, their children could.

Introduction

In this mode, the player fights against other players around the world. Activity, skills, weapons and boosters are equally important.

World Champion

To reach 1-3 of the world ranking you need about...
Olympion at most from 100 to 200 wins.
Assassin at most from 1000 to 1500 kills.

Health
Health that you do not need can be placed in the arena and pick it up just in case of need. You should hide it well. To help you can place the health to walls or corners because it disappears almost there at certain points in the wall and can not be seen well.
Health is permanently until one dies.
You can collect multiple health.

Fame display
After each kill, and even after some hits you can cheer the mob and not only when the fame display gets gold or red. The following you can get in the arena...
After some hits = health or nothing.
Kills without fame display = health or nothing.
Golden fame display = spiculus sword or health.
Red fame display = spiculus sword.
The fame will be included in the next round after death.
You always get a fame display for performing an 9 hits combo even if some hits are blocked.

Spiculus sword
You can always get a mighty sword when you activate a red fame display. A powerful sword has a very good damage, a slow speed impact and can be quickly destroyed. You have to protect yourself!
Therefore, in addition you need a shield.
The shield can always block a spear.
A shield has high defensibility.

Spiculus sword practice

With red fame display and good health you can arm yourself with the shield at the weapon shop and then activate the red indicator and use the powerful sword in the arena.
If you have a red fame display and no health then activate the mighty sword after death in the next round. Before you arm yourself with the shield and go into the arena.
With golden fame display and good health you can activate the golden indicator at the weapon shop. With luck you get the mighty sword but the chance is not high. Do not use the sword. First equip the shield then the sword.
You should hurry because the mighty sword disappears after a short time.

Stake of Vengeance
A kill by Stake of Vengeance brings immediately fame display but only works for an stunned or already weakened gladiator.
If you want to use the kick, pay attention to the timing.
It is also possible with a stitch or shield bash.

Iron Vortex
Iron Vortex are very good to weaken opponents or kill weak enemies. One gets the kill and fame display. They make high damage.
An opponent in Iron Vortex should only be attacked with a powerful special attack or a stitch.
It is possible that you move into the Iron Vortex with normal attacks.
With little stamina you should wait 1-2 seconds.
It is possible to move out from the Iron Vortex, but that is only slowly. However, sometimes it saves you from death.

Flame of Hades
With the Flame of Hades you can disarm an opponent and attack in a short time. The enemy is out of control but gets little damage.
An opponent in Flame of Hades should only be attacked with a powerful special attack or a stitch.
It is possible that you move into the Flame of Hades with normal attacks.

With little stamina you should wait 1-2 seconds.

It is not possible to get control. The time you're defenseless.

Opponents
The enemy shows information. These details are important and you should be careful. This makes it possible to determine the tactics.
The Enemy display is in the lower right corner.
Visible is the level, health and active boosters.

Booster
The boosters are like rock-paper-scissors. What booster you should use depends on your own abilities, those of the opponents and which booster are activated. It also depends on how many booster you have and how to use the skill points.
A booster is only active for a short time.
Some booster have to recharge.
Some you can use immediately.
The duration of the effect varies with the arenas.
Use booster when you have the spiculus sword and a shield.
Use booster when you have already 2 stars in the arena.

Defensoris

Introduction

In this mode, you have several waves defending a statue, hold the score as much as possible and defeat the rival. At the end of all waves you get boosters as a reward and more boosters if one has surpassed his rival with points.

Best Shot

Each arena has 4 stages and after the 4 level all the points are added together. That's your best shot!

World Champion

To reach 1-3 of the world ranking you need about...
Best shot at most from 2.000.000 to 2.280.000 points.
Marathon at most from 2.000.000 to 5.000.000 points.
In each arena after the 4 stages about 500.000 - 570.000 points.

Triumphalis

Introduction

In this mode, you have 10 minutes struggling to survive and thereby achieve the highest score as much as possible and surpass the rivals. In the center of the screen still fills damage barometer of stage 1-5. At the end of a round you get boosters as a reward and more boosters if one has surpassed his rival with points. Skills, the right choice of weapon and boosters are equally important.

Best Shot

Each of the four arenas has a single best score that can be achieved. So you have to try to complete all the arenas as good as possible to get maximal points.

To reach 1-3 of the world ranking you need about...
Best shot at most from 110.000 to 130.000 points.
Marathon at most from 750.000 to 1.500.000 points.
In each single arena about 27.500 - 32.500 points.
