Expedition 33 probably one of the games that I will never forget and wish to experience again for the first time.
Every time I play this game, there was never a moment that felt boring and repetitive. From start to finish, this game is so good and fun to the point where I wish it never ended. The gameplay is probably one of the best Turn-Based combat I have ever played. This game allows you to react on almost, if not, all enemy attacks. You can parry, dodge, jump, and counter all of the enemy attacks in the game. So basically if you have mastered these mechanics, you can probably finish the game without dying or even taking any damage. Also, the build variety for the characters is so diverse that you can have different kinds of builds. There are also a lot of enemy variations where up until the end of the story you encounter new type of enemies. The story is so unique and well written, where it doesn't straight up tell you everything that is happening and let's you piece the story all together. The story pacing is an enjoyable slow burn that always keeps you invested until the end.
The soundtrack is probably one of my favorite aspects of this game. There are so many that was created for this game and all of them were used perfectly on the game's story and gameplay. When I open up my game, I sometimes just stay on the title screen just to listen. The soundtrack on this game is so good that I don't there are any more room for improvement. It simply is just peak. I can also confidently say the same with the graphics, everything in this game looks so beautiful, from scenery, character and enemy designs, and overall vibe of the world. Everything is an eye candy. I love it.
There are very little things that I don't like about the game. First of all, the movement of the characters could get some improvement, although sometimes movement can feel a little jank, it does not ruin the experience of the gameplay and story even for a little bit. As the game is graphically demanding, there are only few graphics settings you can tweak, which lower-end PCs won’t benefit much.
Expedition 33 is my Game of the Year. It does not fall short on everything that it delivered. Be it from gameplay, story, and soundtrack. This game is so good that there are only a few complaints that I can give, and even those, does not break the game's immersion. That's how good this game is.
I highly recommend Expedition 33 to anyone to try this game. It deserves EVEN more praise from what it's getting right now.
