Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade feels like someone took your favorite childhood dream, packed it into HD, and then added a soundtrack so epic that your neighbors will think you’re trapped at an anime convention. It’s nostalgic, dramatic, and so over-the-top that it’s practically an art form.

You play as Cloud Strife, an ex-mercenary with more trauma than a psychology textbook and hair that defies the laws of gravity. Together with a group of eco-terrorists – uh, I mean freedom fighters – you try to stop the evil Shinra corporation from draining the planet dry like a cheap smoothie. Everything’s going great… until the mysterious Whispers show up and things get complicated.

Every scene looks so good you’ll want to frame it as a poster. And yes, even the NPCs look like they deserve their own spin-off series.

✔️ Epic Combat System
A mix of action and strategy that makes you feel like you’re directing a Michael Bay movie – but with more fireballs and fewer explosions.

✔️ Attention to Detail
Whether it’s the streets of Midgar or the banter between characters, the game is packed with little moments that will make you smile (or laugh out loud, depending on your mood).

✔️ Tifa and Aerith
You’ll find yourself torn between these two amazing women (especially with NSFW mods that "enhance the view"). Who needs an epic story when you can just admire these two for hours?

✔️ The Soundtrack
The game takes your favorite tracks from the original and turns them into orchestral masterpieces that make you wish your life had a soundtrack this good.

❌ Linear Sections
At times, the game feels so linear that you’ll wonder if Cloud is stuck in a particularly beautiful hallway.

❌ Mysterious Whispers
The story gets so confusing with these strange specters that you’ll eventually just accept it as "magic."

❌ Cliffhanger Ending
While the game doesn’t wrap up everything, there’s already a sequel available and another part on the horizon, so at least you won’t be waiting forever.

The achievements range from "Complete the game" to "Defeat this ridiculously overpowered boss that looks like an anime Transformer." Don’t worry: none of the achievements are missable. You’ll spend plenty of time figuring out how to build the perfect team for Cloud and company – or just pulling your hair out.
