Everyone had doubts about prior the release of this game, me included. I'm happy to report that Silent Hill 2 Exceeded my expectations. Bloober team really did their homework regarding the original 2002 game, and despite the community negativity they have delivered. This game is a fantastic survival horror release, it's fun and beautiful.

That's being said, an important note for the PC players, the infamy about this port is valid.
As much as I'd love to blame everything on the Unreal Engine 5, unfortunately bloober team did not put enough resources in optimizing the game to be accessible to most people.

I play this game with a Ryzen 5 5600 and a RX 6700 XT 12GB on Bazzite Linux using GE-Proton compatibility layer, in order to reach Stable 60 FPS i have no other options but never go past 1080p, enable FSR 3.1, set Shadows to Low and Shaders to medium and turn off Screen Space Reflections (SSR).
