So I came back to try this again; I played through the original version six or seven years ago. This one looks ok, the story is still good, the setting is still good, but the controls.. aren't good. the driving camera is flat out bad. the buffs - which you pay for - clear if you restart at a checkpoint. sometimes the combat counters simply don't function.

I'm very frustrated because it's a GOOD GAME that no longer plays well. It's not up to the standards of the genre anymore.

Good: I like the grappling mechanics, as well as using the cable itself for puzzles.

Bad: I just can't get a playable framerate, and my PC isn't *that* out of date.

I like Open World Survival Crafting games, and this just... isn't a great one. The gameplay loop seems to be get down from my tree, walk around slowly harvesting basic resources, get killed by a bug, respawn, repeat. There's no fast travel. The map is primitive, at best. The quests are basic and unengaging (so far). The UI is passable. The graphics aren't nearly as good as the screenshots claim. The building is ok, but there appears to be no way to move objects (only repair or dismantle), and dismantling just leaves piles of mats on the ground that have to be manually collected. And did I mention that there's apparently no fast travel?

I hope the devs stick with it, but up against things like Nightingale or Enshrouded, this feels about ten years behind the pace.

Incredibly cumbersome controls and interface for something that came out in 2021.

I cannot recommend any game that takes over half an hour to get to actual gameplay.

This is... just... slow. Super slow. Lots of slowly jogging, lots of trying to figure out what the game wants, lots of time wasted.

Also I managed to spawn a boss rat in my base that took me a good hour to kill, so that was fun.

There are some great mechanical upgrades from the first game, but it's just... not fun. The scenario objectives force a pace that's unenjoyable, and achieving later ones on time frequently requires a precise plan from the very start. The tech tree has been simplified and isn't fun to explore; upgrades are simply linear.

They've got the bones of something good, but the end result just... isn't.

The voice acting is top tier, but there's about five to ten times more of it than needed (German devs? Too much dialog? Shocking, I know).

The lockpicking is the single worst system ever.

The story is just insane.

The gameplay? modded up, it's ok.

I really can't recommend this one.

It's just... not satisfying. Going up against stacked fleet after stacked fleet with handicapped options isn't fun.

Controls are baffling, UI is non-intuitive, and the game is giving me motion sickness like mad.
