Once upon a time, there lived a cat
His name was Matt
And he was very fat
So fat that when he sat, he splat

One day, Matt saw a rat
He tried to chase it, but was too fat
Too fat even for that
Matt yelled at the rat "You little brat!"

Later that night, Matt had a chat
A very friendly chat, with a bat
His name was Pat
And he was certainly not a brat

Matt asked "Have you seen that rat?"
Pat replied "No, I have not seen a gnat."
Matt said "No, not gnat! I said rat!"
Pat replied "Oh, no, I don't know where it's at."

There Matt sat
Feeling very flat
Sad that he couldn't catch that rat
Matt mumbled to himself "I hate that brat!"
