Manage your Google AI plan from Gemini Apps

You can upgrade to Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra for higher limits and priority access to some features in Gemini Apps.

Important:

This article is for users managing Gemini Apps for a personal Google Account. If you’re using a work or school Google Account, learn more about using Gemini Apps with a work or school account.
To use Gemini Apps with a Google AI plan, you must be 18 years of age or older.

Upgrade Gemini to the Pro or Ultra plan

To upgrade to Gemini to Pro or Ultra, subscribe in Google One.

Upgrade Gemini to Pro

Go to gemini.google.com.
At the bottom, click Settings & help View Subscriptions Get Google AI Pro.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Upgrade Gemini to Ultra (from a current Pro plan)

Go to gemini.google.com.
At the bottom, click Settings & help Upgrade to Google AI Ultra.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Upgrade Gemini to Ultra (without a current Pro plan)

Go to gemini.google.com.
At the bottom, click Settings & help View Subscriptions Get Google AI Ultra.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Tip: When you subscribe to the plan, you’ll need to select or provide a form of payment. Learn how to manage your Google payment info.

Choose the model you want to use

You can choose the model that you want to use for a chat.

Important: To switch between models in Gemini Apps, you must be signed in. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.

How to switch between Gemini models

Important: A chat can only use one model. If you switch between models in an existing chat, it automatically starts a new chat

To switch between models:

Go to gemini.google.com.
At the top under the Gemini logo, click the model name.
Select what model you want to use for the chat.

Tip: You can check what model a chat uses at the top.

2.5 Pro (Preview)

Tip: Experimental models allow you to try out the newest Gemini models. Share feedback to help us improve models over time.

Change your plan

To switch to a different Google One plan:

On your computer, go to Google One.
Click Settings Change membership plan.
Choose your new storage limit:
- To add more storage space: Select a plan under "Upgrade options."
- To pay for less storage space: Select a plan under "Downgrade options."
  - If there’s no downgrade option, you're on the lowest plan.
To confirm the new plan price and details, click Next.
Select your payment method.
Click Subscribe.

Cancel your plan

You can cancel your plan in Google One settings.

Go to gemini.google.com.
At the bottom, click Settings & help Manage subscription. This opens Google One settings, where you can cancel your plan.
Click Cancel membership Cancel.

What happens when you cancel your plan

When your AI Pro plan ends, you’ll no longer have access to:

Gemini app in Pro. You won’t be able to:
- Start new chats with Pro
- Continue chats created with Pro
- Use features that are only available on Pro
These benefits from Google One:
- Expanded storage across Drive, Gmail, and Photos
- Direct support from Google experts
- Exclusive member benefits
Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more

When your AI Ultra plan ends, you’ll no longer have access to:

Gemini in Ultra. You won’t be able to:
- Start new chats with Ultra
- Continue chats created with Ultra
- Use features that are only available on Ultra

- Direct support from Google experts
