Thunderbird POP3 Downloads Mail Messages Twice

I am running Thunderbird 102.3.2 on Windows 10 21H2 64-bit. Recently (I do not remember nor log when it first started) TB is downloading some (not all) mail messages twice from the POIP3 server. Then I have to use Tools --> Remove Duplicates to find and remove the duplicates. Here is my log of TB updates: 

    09/03/2022 20:09  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.2.1  (replaces 102.2.0)
    09/08/2022 21:30  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.2.2  (replaces 102.2.1)
    09/22/2022 23:56  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.3.0  (replaces 102.2.2)
    09/29/2022 13:23  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.3.1  (replaces 102.3.0)
    10/09/2022 00:04  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.3.2  (replaces 102.3.1)
    10/20/2022 11:28  Mozilla Thunderbird 64-bit 102.4.0  (replaces 102.3.2)

I think that the problem started after September 1, but I cannot be sure. Note that I just upgraded to 102.4.0 .
