I agree with Byasbeach. You had a truly amazing game. The rework was amusing at first and then terrible when I realized it was a total replacement. I would prefer that you fix Act 3 and, most importantly, reinstate old versions of the game. I was so disappointed when I couldn't revert to my previous game because you removed the links.
So i played the OG version and finally made time to try this "rework" and I'll be honest and say I'm not a fan of how the story has started. In the OG regular people have no idea of the existence of the Fey but now right off the bat one swims you to town? The MC barely acts surprised by the humanoid fish creature which makes it seem like it isn't that odd. The beginning story wise has left me appreciating the OG story line even more.
Next is the new designs, I'll be honest and say i don't like most of them. I understand the dev wants it to look different from other KK games but no one ever complained about that. As the old saying goes "don't fix whats not broke". I will also say Pixie's design is awful, i don't want to come off as mean but the character model is ugly.
Last as a fan i think its a spit in the face to completely trash all the work that went into the OG and restart from 0 basically. I've been following for a while and its just disappointing that now we have to start all over. By the time this is finished (if it is ever finished) I'll probably not even play AVN's anymore, this is going to take years to finish. I wonder how people that have been supporting this game for years even feel about this move. I honestly wouldn't be too happy knowing that it will be years of more support before i even see where we were currently in the OG.
Best of luck to the dev but i can't imagine supporting this game right now.
Everyone keeps shitting on the designs but i really like them they are way cuter and unique and less koikatsu
I am honestly super disappointed that there wasn't any sex content, Not trying to shit on you Arc but the game has been in development for years and you basically just threw it in the trash to restart, Just feels like such a waste.
At coding? Yes, he said it himself that the original was essentially a bowl of spaghetti that was constantly catching fire. At storytelling? No. Arc is pretty damn good at what he does, but his current coding understanding compared to what it was originally is like comparing a grain of sand to an entire bag of it.
Okay, I have high hopes for this remake (or Rework, whatever the fuck we're calling it.), purely because I trust you Arc and believe you won't do anything stupid. However, what we've been given is not it bro.
First off, the designs for the characters. For some, the change isn't very jarring, so most might not notice it. (Morgana, for example.) For other characters (Like Pixie) the design is so different and so objectively worse than what the original was that you genuinely can't even recognize them as the same being anymore. Obviously this needs to revert to what they originally looked like, or these designs need to be remade so that they're as close to what they were before as possible while still letting You change it up a bit if you want. this last option is the best and the safest, this lets you modernize and adjust their looks without accidentally spiting the fanbase. I say this since I love OG Pixie, and she's one of, if not, my absolute most favorite character in the game. Following this, I want to burn new Pixie at the stake. Her new outfit is better than the OG but it feels like a little too different at the same time, so I feel it should be tweaked to look less like edgy rebellious teen. The face is on the opposite end of the spectrum and is utterly horrendous, when I first saw her I genuinely paused my game and almost deleted it on the spot. ARC, YOU CAN'T JUST UN-CUTE YOUR MASCOT, MAN! XD
Second, the menu designs and other things revolving around UI and the interface. This was good, its definitely got a lot more spirit in it than before in the way it looks, and I can tell you had fun with it. The little beeps when characters talk is cute, but it might give some people headaches, so I'd either remove it entirely or add a slider specifically dedicated to its volume output.
Third, exploration. Neither good nor bad, just different. The snack thing is pretty dumb, but the hex menu for exploring is kinda cool. It'd be a better idea to go back to timeslots but keep the hex grid for the best of both worlds if you're dead set on keeping it that way. (each block on the grid costing either 1/2 or 1/3 of a timeslot.)
Fourth, the plot changes in the intro and the new narrative framing of the world. I genuinely cannot say anything good about this part, and I'm sorry for that Arc, but you changed too much all at once. If you'd just gone with the new weird fisherman start and that was it, we'd have been cool. you get to start the game with some building confusion and give returning players something fresh, and we don't get a vastly different narrative setting to grapple with. As to what the hell just happened, MC could probably think he hallucinated or something. (this lets the whole Fish start be added without destroying your original and already established lore.) Making Fae go from Mythical creatures straight out of fairytales that live in secrecy to Oh they just kinda here now, and literally everyone knows what they are was an INCREDIBLE fumble of GARGANTUAN proportions. It removes every single ounce of intrigue, secrecy, mystery, and wonder from their involvement. And takes away the entire plotline that made them interesting in the first place.
Fifth, the locations. IDK man, you did something different than before but that's about all I can say. switching the environment from average city that actually hides deep, dark secrets to Magical New York with a racist and murderous government institution was not a good play. The resort hotel thing is nice, but having Jessica pull away from big bad evil group before the plot has gone anywhere comes off as lazy and breeds disinterest with how her arc will be handled now following this new setup. the original condo or apartment start both works better and is more believable.
All in all OG CK was about a 9-9.5/10, with this glimpse at what the remake could be landing at around 4-4.5/10, I hope all the super strong negativity and hate doesn't get to you, but I also hope you're not letting all the ass-kissing positive reinforcement make you think you're in the green or that what you put out was good enough to not deserve all the hate it has received so far. You let your creativity and need to change or fix things run too wild, and this pushback is the result of that blunder. So I hope you can take the rampant alphabet soup that's pummeling you, learn from it, and do better. Because we all know what you're capable of, if OG CK wasn't close to being a beloved masterpiece no one would be mad at you. It's because we have such high expectations for you and confidence in your quality that we get so upset when you fail to meet those standards.
I just saw that there was actually a new update by chance and...
I have never seen anything like that.
The whole itch page is just outright wrong advertisment at this point.
None of the content you advertise is here at all anymore
You say that "This is the exact same game as before. Same story, same characters, same plot beats, same everything. ", but thats completly wrong too.
Everything got changed, redesigned or outright removed.
Instead of normal human suddenly being confronted with secret supernatural world, it starts off with all the supernatural and secret organisation stuff as if everyones neighbour was always supposed to be a magical being.
Everyone who just plays 2 minutes can see how the whole settimg changed.
You advertise the game on itch with an artstyle, content and UI that doesn't even exist anymore!
How many random girls were there in the original game that you could find somewhere on the street for nasty naughty fun, without even knowing their names?
How many side girls you could get into your mansion, or visit at their home or world to screw with?
I really enjoyed playing the old version of the game,
and learning that it wouldn't have a sequel was very sad news.
From what I've seen, the new version is of better quality in terms of character design,
you can see that Arc has definitely made progress.
I didn't have too much trouble playing the new version,
however,
I can't help but feel sad to have to start over after all the time I spent on the old one.
Of course, I'm happy to rediscover the world of Corrupted Kingdoms and I'm curious to see the new features and differences,
but it will take me a while to get over the version I played for years.
Thank you for working so hard to let us discover (or rediscover, in this case) your world despite all the crap that's happened to you, Arc.
Well I guess it’s time to test this new version. I have learned over the years playing these adult games is if you are going to revamp/remake the game it’s better to make a portal in the old game to travel back into time to a alternate universe where everything is slightly different where you start over with your previous memories.
You realize that this new version is so poorly received that the modders delete it or don't allow any criticism to be posted, Or else the attacking puppy comes to defend.
Hum... I still don't know what to think about the new lore, sure it has potential and can lead to the same route the classic went, but it might also be too much work for a rework and end up with more problems with plotholes and such (which already exist).
About the new designs, a few are better (Morgana is cuter... I didn't think that was possible at all), a few aren't (didn't like the new Pixie, too much of an "It's not a phase, mom!" kind of look), but above all, I hated the noses. And above that! There's a distinct, terrible, unforgivable LOWER AVERAGE TITTY SIZE.
There's new stuff to get used to and obstacles that the dev will need to overcome on the way. I don't know how this will go; it's too early to say. Whether the new lore will be maintained or not, the noses will stay, the boobs will grow or not. I trust the dev, after all, they made the incredible game that was the classic one to the point of needing a rework now. Isn't it incredible how they grow so fast?
Edit: Oh, forgot one thing. I'm very glad to see that the sense of humor is the same. I laughed a lot in this prologue from such small things at times; it was delightful.
Wow... the change is really something, the intro is way different than i remember it :o
Woahhhh Emma and Jessica is different now! (Emma's such a sweetheart 🥹, and I love Jessica's new design :o, a shame that she was "reduced" though... and less motherly feeling 🥺)
AND VIOLA IS ALREADY HERE!?!?
AND MY BEGINNING CHOICE MAKES A SELECTION??? (I cant hand over the other ID with truth...)
The front page needs an update now, I wont lie I'll miss these designs, but THE NEW ONES ARE JUST AS GOOD! and the intro is SO DIFFERENT!!!
PIXIE!!!! I LOVE HER DESIGNNN, she's a lot more rude than i remember though...
And looks like we'll be starting from the beginning again.. a shame, but it can't be helped
Of course when this finally updates its to inform us that is starting over again, gives me vibes of Succulence, which also pulled this shtick, whelp time to wait for everything to get back to where it left off before like I have since it finally moved to Act 3
I just finished playing the little content is available in version 0.2.2 and I wanted to give my opinion as a fan. I admit the graphics are incredible, the movements, the fluidity, and above all, I liked some interesting changes and additions like the initial choice of wanting revenge, justice, or truth, and the notes that explain things about the world like the Numen, the Institute (which I assume is the organization), etc... Regarding the characters designs, well... I like some of them. I love all the redesigns of the Council, however, Pixie and Enma seem almost an abomination to me; poor Pixie, she looked so beautiful... The new mechanics are so-so; some, like object exploration or object interaction, are good, but others seem either too saturated or unnecessary. And finally, the arrival in Kappa City and the map seem very random and cheap, almost like something from a typical Play Store ad. I, at least, would still use the original map. The new character of the store and Jessica's redesign are just meh. What I didn't like much was the resort; I don't know, it doesn't convince me and it doesn't make much sense within the plot. I preferred the rented house or apartment. In short, from my perspective, if I give the previous CK an 8.5 or 9 (well-deserved) based on what I've seen, and if it continues at this pace and with the same interfaces, I'd give this version between a 5 and a 6.5 at most, if it really manages to surprise me. In short, it has improved in several aspects of quality, but some of those changes significantly detract from its overall score
I'm probably going to uninstall this and maybe check after a year. I was really excited about the update and now I cannot even play the game I used to love.
HE IS GOING TO ADD MORE FOR ALL GIRLS That ISN'T A DOWNGRADE PLUS EVERYTHING IS THE SAME if you dislike it leave this game change is apart of life you can't stop change
I'll be honest, I personally believe it would've been best to leave the original 0.22 version here abandoned (or atleast postponed indefinitely) and create a entirely new project that acts as the remake/rebrand of this game, that way fans of the original version still have access to it (as well as hope to return to the original story and models), whilst anyone who's a fan of the newer story and models can go enjoy that instead, considering removing the download for 0.22 legacy is kinda just annoying.
It's the creators fault to promote the game with content that isn't there.
None of the screenshots shown here is in the game anymore.
None of the content he promises here is in the game anymore.
See this?
"Meet dozens of fully-realized characters, purchase property and upgrade it, seek allies in your quest for justice or revenge and build relationships or tear them down to reveal fully animated and uncensored erotic scenes. With over 590 animations, more than 4000 images, unique music and sound effects and whole lot more in store!"
This is not in the game anymore.
The correct way to handle this would be to keep "corrupted kingdoms" here at the 0.22 version, and make a new page for the new "corrupted kingdoms rework"
TLTR: Developer owns the damn game, not us freebies. Let the dev cook.
Many are getting too comfortable with the game, as if it can just breathe and update on its own, rather than trusting the developer who literally explained why they had to do what they did.
Personally, it is a shame that the charm and appearance of the original is gone, that much I agree. However, an update to appearances is also a nice chance for the developer to keep improving their skills.
On the other hand, I never delve far into the storyline, because it always felt off to me, or the UI visuals weren't there the whole way. Others may argue me on this, but that's just my take.
So, I don't mind redoing the storyline, because you want to make it worth it (I mean, christ ya'll, I know you play the other h-games on itchio, and you know some had to force us to replay from the start. So stop picking on this developer for their "crime".).
Now, with that said, having interactable bubbles is odd, but I'm sure that's just a placeholder type of deal (I mean, again, this isn't a full-fledged game. Things are bound to look awkward). But, at least that keeps us focused on key areas, rather than moving our mouses everywhere as if there's a secret under every pixel.
I saved early in the prologue, and when I came back the background image is on a blackout spasm spree. Seems like the rendering is allergic to being loaded in from a save file. I'm no game wiz, but hopefully that gets patched up soon.
Other than that, I hope this means we'll get better animations and more from the dev in avoiding spaghetti code (Yes, I read the 0.2.1 log. Yes, it's "long" but good god ya'll, stop using the internet and go steal a baby's tablet if you don't wanna read text.).
Keep pushing forward, developer! Listen to proper feedback, not complaints. Haters always try to look like they're "helping" but don't offer actual feedback, and love to whine.
what happened to the original game tho? I haven't followed the game for like 1-2 years and you know when I tried to replay it there is just a whole new build
Like I mentioned in my post, in the dev log, the developer saw the game needed a remake from the ground-up. They couldn't handle fixing the old game code, and decided it's best to update it from scratch. New codework, new performance, new everything, but the story is still there, just directed differently.
You really should've waited the couple months, because evidently no one reads update logs. The only change from the story I can see so far is the renaming of fey to numen for some reason, the organization having a name, the town itself seeming to be controlled by or is the body of an entity, and the numen being public. If the town becomes a new plot point, it'll be an interesting reason to revisit the story I'm curious to how it'll impact the war arc if at all. Making the numen public gets rid of the 'what if' scenario of Robin revealing the fey to the public before the organization does in the war arc. I'm only stating this because I'm confused as to why some think the story is worse when it's exactly the same with additions or negligible differences.
Other than that I personally love the new dialogue boxes, I just wish there was a more obvious differentiation between thinking and talking than just a tint, such as an opaque overlay/bubbling animation on the screen edges, or exclusively putting the text in thought bubbles. Also despite having settings, there doesn't seem to be a way to skip on mobile, there's very little content currently so I figure you didn't bother but I feel it's worth mentioning regardless. The interactive menu is great, though a little hard to access the menu screen on mobile, however I understand if mobile is not a priority and hope it's not with all the content you gotta make up for. In my opinion the new noses are uncanny and I preferred the rounder eyes, other than that the new designs are objectively better than the much simpler previous ones. It'd be nice to have an option to revert the eye, nose, and lip shapes, however the story is so great that I know I personally would be able to deal with it. There's so little content currently that I had no time to get used to them so I might change my mind in the future. Anyways that's my attempt at a review I hope it helps, even if a little
On the one hand im disappointed all the progress has to be rewritten and i dont like the thoughts animation that plays. The game feels slower now. Idk how i feel about "numen" as part of the mystery was uncovering this new unknown world. On the other hand if they made the last game as good as it was then i look forward to seeing what they do with this one. I have faith in your storytelling abilities.
ok maybe its just ive not been paying attention to this or anything having to do with it for a while but wtf happened to the original story? it was kinda the reason i liked this at all over w.m's stuff, now it feels alot more run of the mill i guess? like dont get me wrong its still great its just something feels off lol
This was one of the first itch.io games I played and rated. I kept up with it until the war arc. Then I decided to wait for that to be over so I could get back to the story. I didn't dislike the war arc though, it was just a huge project that was going to take way too long. So last version I played was a year or two ago. Now I expected to come back to a game that was further along, but instead there's... this. I'm not far enough into the remake to say if I like it or not, but I can say I'm certainly not happy about it.
Just finished the rework: positives: Love the new interactive menu, very nice very fun ui. The pebbles joke and Emma redesign are very nice from what I've seen. And the fish girl cut scene was a fun start. Foreshadowing Viola was also nice. The redesigns are a bit jarring, but they aren't that bad, I just don't think a lot of people are used to them. I honestly prefer the new pixie design, but you could give her the old clothes that'd be perf imo
However, I'm confused at why magic creatures, the 'numen' are just common knowledge now. I get this could make more sense for a war plotline in the original, but it loses a bit of its 'the fairies are a secret' charm. Also you probably should've waited until you got a bit more done with the rework before dropping this on us, but I get you wanting to keep us a bit updated. Good luck on your future efforts, and I hope the rework goes smoothly
Not going to lie Im kinda disappointed. I waited so long just to go back to the "wait for the next update" format. We gotta go through the entire story again and wait to do it? Idk I really like the work but I've been waiting a long time for this already and telling me I have to wait more just rubs me the wrong way. This was my favorite game but not anymore If I gotta wait and wait and wait. At least if we got as far in the story as we were. Idk this just feels like the worst possible option you could have chose from my perspective
Look I like the models the game feels more unique so far. I hope we keep most of the same characters and powers from the original game. I'm just upset we waited so long to wait again. Feels like unlocking a door to find another door

Can't believe after so many years this game is still incomplete. Game creator must really suck at his or her job. 🤔

Porque no puedo descargar la versión antigua? O es que la a borrado?🥲
For everyone angry about the noses
I'm probably going to uninstall this and maybe check after a year. I was really excited about the update and now I cannot even play the game I used to love.
Go to f95 if you want the original ❤️ the dev made it so this version doesn't overlap the original
I'm glad I still have the last original version. I'm not interested at all in the 'remake' and you lost a supporter due to it.
Oh boohoo it's not a remake it's a revamp and yeah we do not care
we DO care mf, its a damn downgrade!
It's not his fault itch removes old download links automatically
It's the creators fault to promote the game with content that isn't there.
None of the screenshots shown here is in the game anymore.
None of the content he promises here is in the game anymore.
See this?
"Meet dozens of fully-realized characters, purchase property and upgrade it, seek allies in your quest for justice or revenge and build relationships or tear them down to reveal fully animated and uncensored erotic scenes. With over 590 animations, more than 4000 images, unique music and sound effects and whole lot more in store!"
This is not in the game anymore.
The correct way to handle this would be to keep "corrupted kingdoms" here at the 0.22 version, and make a new page for the new "corrupted kingdoms rework"
are the photos on the right the original version or the remake? want to see how the new one look since original was outdated
Those photos are from original version
good game, love the variety
How do I sync my old and new game
I am very confused. is the download for the demo?
The download is for the remake. The dev is actively bait and switching by not updating the preview images above.
No this is for a rework f95 has the original version
Oh, I understood, already played the new build and I like everything except some face models but that pretty subjective
You might as well change the pictures. Since this can be considered a false advertising
AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU CHANGED THE FACES AGAIN!? UT WAS PERFECT BEFORE
Not terribly thrilled about waiting for this to be built from the ground up again, but I am happy to see you still going. Keep at it!
I have faith in your storytelling abilities.
cual es el juego anterior que era tan bueno? Rota name bro porfa
honestly, the new UI and format makes it unbearable to get through the playthrough. could've just continued the story using updated code or something.
is there anyway at all to play the old version of this game?
Join discord and ask for file.
ok maybe its just ive not been paying attention to this or anything having to do with it for a while but wtf happened to the original story? it was kinda the reason i liked this at all over w.m's stuff, now it feels alot more run of the mill i guess? like dont get me wrong its still great its just something feels off lol
Just finished the rework:
positives: Love the new interactive menu, very nice very fun ui.
I never updated, but from the sounds of it, i shouldnt. Glad to have a copy of the last version of CK before it was gone.
anyone know where i could play the old v0.22.2 before the rework there were a few updates i missed and want to see what was added
Dude, I’ve been chasing this for 4 years.
