12.12: The Day

On December 12, 1979, following President Park Chung Hee's assassination, Major General Chun Doo Gwang (Hwang Jung Min) arrests General Jeong Sang Ho (Lee Sung Min) and initiates a military coup. Commander Lee Tae Shin (Jung Woo Sung) of the Capital Garrison Command opposes Chun's power grab, rallying forces to stop the insurrection. As tensions escalate between the military factions, Chun's powerful allies support his aggressive takeover, creating a critical moment in South Korean political history.
