Who knows the different between private health insurance and market place plans?
Private plans are HEALTH based plans, therefore the insurance company is able to asses the risk pool, allowing for lower monthly premiums than what most employers offer for family members.
Market place plans are all INCOME based and guarantee issued. This means anyone can get on these plans, but you have to enroll during open enrollment or have a special enrollment. These plans typically have higher deductibles and premiums because anyone can get these plans.
