Organizations Involved

In 2013 UMass Memorial Health Care selected CentreTEK Solutions as their strategic partner to guide their future online marketing and mobile efforts. As part of this engagement CentreTEK was asked to recommend and implement a new CMS platform. The new CMS would be used to run a series of department microsites and the main consumer website.

About the project

Selected Results and Features:

The new website was well received by our clients and consumers. Key conversions have increased and the website better reflects the organization's strategic positioning and branding.

Why Drupal was chosen

UMass Memorial was looking for an enterprise-level platform to replace their existing Oracle Fatwire implementation. The new CMS needed to be customizable, scalable, capable of integrating with third-party systems and data feeds, user-friendly, and supported by a number of quality digital agencies. After conducting an analysis of their current and future needs CentreTEK recommended moving them to Drupal.

Key modules/theme/distribution used:

Why these modules/theme/distribution were chosen

Custom theme and some custom module development. The community modules we selected are well documented and supported. Probably the most important module we used was Entity Reference and some associated bits and pieces to link together the different pieces of content (departments, tests & treatments, etc.). This type of content cross promotion through a centralized taxonomy is critical for a site like this.

Weโ€™re also making a lot of use out of the Display Suite module to provide different ways of styling and presenting nodes in different contexts - whether something is included as a featured item, an excerpt, a full entry, etc.
