We have a new (currently experimental) module in Core for Help Topics.

As contrib and core begin to adopt this, user PQ on groups.drupal.org suggested:

This is great, and it seems like a logical next step from there would be power some if not all of the module documentation pages on drupal.org from this so that developers only have to manage it in one place. This would also mean that document would automatically be versioned by module version, so flipping between the 2.x and 3.x versions of the docs on d.o should be relatively simple to set up.

So the idea would be that we would somehow display on drupal.org the Help Topics from the various branches of core and contrib. Useful features I can think of:
- Automatic link from a contrib/core project to its help topics
- Block in the sidebar that would let you switch branches/projects [or maybe just support the supported branch for each project?]
- We wouldn't want to display links to admin pages that might appear in the topics
- We don't want to load all the contrib modules in order to see their help topics, not to mention that they have different branches, so maybe somehow tie it into cgit?
- Help Topics is in Core for Drupal 8; currently d.o is not running 8

Anyway... creating this as an issue to think about.
