Poland has one of the lowest infection rates in Europe but is facing a sharp rise in HIV cases, with reported infections more than doubling in four years. Marcel, diagnosed in 2024, describes fear and uncertainty as he informs past partners and launches his own awareness campaign. Experts link the surge to low testing rates, declining risk awareness and disrupted treatment for refugees. New education efforts and free tests aim to curb stigma and improve prevention.
