Wrapped up a great week at the Traffic Records Forum conference ATSIP | Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP) in New Orleans. Got to share how our team at Citian is helping the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office turns 28 years of messy data into a resource that support better decision making. Beyond our own session, spent the week learning from other states working through the same problems: legacy systems, inconsistent coding, and incomplete records each state tackling it a little differently. Grateful to work alongside Paul Harris and Ryan Westrom, P.E., PTP, our work was named finalist for Best Practice in the conference!

7,080 pedestrians were killed on U.S. roads in 2024, representing a 72% increase since 2009, according to Smart Growth America's Dangerous by Design 2026 report. City of Bozeman is using Safe Streets for All grant funds to bring Citian on board for data-driven safety planning. 84% of MPO planners at a recent Association Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) safety meeting said they don't have access to predictive crash modeling. At the same meeting, two MPOs shared how they're using CRASH to build local partner buy-in during safety action plan development and measure whether countermeasures are actually reducing crashes.
