It had been great to catch up with so many of you at NRF in NYC last week. Here is my late summary and key take aways from our biggest industry gathering. For those who could not come - looking forward to meet with you at Shoptalk in Las Vegas in 2 months.

Every abandoned cart is a lost opportunity 🫣 Most shoppers leave because checkout is slow, repetitive, or frustrating. Typing card details, confirming addresses, and navigating verification screens adds friction, and kills conversions. Even small improvements, such as reducing steps or saving preferences, can make checkout faster and more seamless, improving repeat purchases and building trust 🤝 Learn how to simplify checkout and turn friction into a competitive advantage: https://okt.to/Targ6q

NRF went big this year! ⚡🕺 Three days of packed halls, big ideas, and even bigger conversations at our booth. Thank you to everyone who came by for demos, debates, and a lot of “wait, show me that again!” What we kept hearing: ‼️ AI agents are now doing full shopping journeys, not just search ‼️ AI isn’t the biggest blocker, it’s actually product data AI can’t understand ‼️ Tech platforms are moving carefully, but retailers want speed ‼️ Some brands are building agentic commerce capabilities themselves to move faster ‼️ Being “ready” now beats being “big” later The nerdy-but-important bit: Agentic commerce only works when your catalog speaks “machine” as fluently as it speaks “human.” Clean structure, rich attributes, consistent data… that’s what gets you seen, understood, and sold by AI. No solid data foundation? You’re basically invisible! What this means for retail: Agentic commerce is becoming a serious revenue channel, right alongside web, mobile, and stores. It changes how customers find products, how decisions get made, and how fast a sale can happen. Retailers who get their data, architecture, and teams ready now will shape how this channel works. They’ll influence what gets recommended, what gets bought, and which brands even show up. Everyone else won’t just be late, they’ll be invisible where customers are starting to buy 🫣 National Retail Federation - thanks, as always, for the energy 🫡 To everyone we met, let’s build what’s next (watch this space) 😉

We talk a lot about opportunity in B2B, but not nearly enough about the cost of staying the same. In this clip, 10ops - The Opportunity Company's Martin Schneider digs into a critical question: What’s the financial impact of not moving forward? 🤔 Because with every year you hold onto outdated systems or processes, you’re not just missing new revenue. You’re widening the gap between your business and the competitors who are evolving faster. We created a guide to help B2B leaders pinpoint that gap, giving the structure to build a business case that resonates across the C-suite. If you’re leading change, or trying to get buy-in for it, this is the guide you need: https://okt.to/Xqsbf3

Buying is changing. In a few years, your customers won’t be browsing your site; their AI will... 🤖 That changes pretty much everything: how products get found, how decisions are made, and how revenue flows. If your brand isn’t easy for AI to understand, recommend, and act on, it simply won’t show up when it matters most. Our new blog breaks down 7 AI trends that will shape commerce in 2026, with a clear focus on business impact: what to prepare for, what to fix first, and where growth will come from next. Want a straight look at how buying is changing, and what smart brands are doing about it? Check it out here: https://okt.to/lpzdgt

AI is becoming the new front door for shopping, and retailers that can’t be discovered there (or can’t transact reliably at scale) will feel it in revenue, customer trust, and operations. What JD Sports Fashion, Stripe and commercetools are putting into action shows how enterprises can show up in AI-led experiences while keeping the performance, governance, and control their business depends on 🤝 Dirk Hoerig Full details: https://okt.to/b47NRx

B2B sellers don’t lose deals because of bad products; they lose them to complexity. Think about it: a single purchase might need sign-off from procurement, finance and compliance. That’s three approval steps… before you’ve even processed the order ‼️ Now imagine automating all of that (every role, every rule, every approval) with precision 🎯 Our latest B2B Product Spotlight shows how commercetools makes that possible with: 💡 Business Units that reflect your customers’ real hierarchies 💡 Granular roles and permissions to control who can act and when 💡 Approval flows that ensure compliance without slowing anyone down 💡 Import/export tools, inheritance and flexible configuration for scaling operations For large enterprises and distributors managing thousands of accounts, this is how you turn complexity into a competitive advantage. Read the guide and see what next-level B2B commerce looks like: https://okt.to/meOKVa
