Day 6 at #YouRbanFestival: collaboration, circularity, and community! This morning, students joined an engaging tour of the YouRban Mobile Lab and a presentation of the #DeremCo project, exploring how circular solutions can transform composite materials into new opportunities. 🌍🔁   In the evening, at 6:00 PM, DeremCo took the stage again together with its partners Centrocot S.p.A. , NTS S.p.A., Studio Origoni and our coordinator marcello colledani from Politecnico di Milano. DeremCo will join the upcoming YouRban Festival in Milan (26 September - 5 October at Fabbrica del Vapore), an initiative within the European YouRban project, coordinated by Politecnico di Milano. The initiative will bring to Milan the first mobile plant for the demanufacturing and reprocessing of reinforced plastic waste, installed in the Fabbrica del Vapore courtyard and offering technical demonstrations of some of its processes. #DeremCo will participate with an exhibition space, showcasing products made from new materials that include recycled composites materials and illustrating how these, which until now were considered waste, can be transformed into valuable resources. 📅 On 1 October (18:00 - 19:00), we will also present the Lombardy Use Case of DeremCo, sharing concrete industrial results achieved in the region and showing how SMEs, institutions, and innovators are driving circular practices and new business models.   The synergy between the YouRban and #DeremCo projects highlights a shared commitment to the recovery and reuse of end-of-life composite materials and circular economy models, proving how collaboration can drive sustainable industrial transformation.   The festival is free to attend upon registration, open to professionals, companies, and citizens.   More information : https://lnkd.in/dQfSmQMy Registration: https://lnkd.in/d4rZbeQz #DeremCo #YouRbanFestival #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Sustainability #EISMEA #I3

♻️ How can we make composite waste part of Europe’s circular future? Last week, the DeremCo project took part in CIRPlex 2025 in Klagenfurt — an international event dedicated to circular economy innovation in the plastics and composites sector. We were proud to contribute to the program with a dedicated conference session, where Prof. marcello colledani from Politecnico di Milano, our Project Coordinator, presented the DeremCo vision, objectives, and ongoing results in detail. Our partner Faculty of Polymer Technology also joined the session, with Maja Mešl offering a concise overview of the project’s impact in Slovenia and beyond. A special thanks goes to our host and project partner Wood K plus - Kompetenzzentrum Holz GmbH, who made this opportunity possible by inviting DeremCo to be represented among the key circular economy initiatives in Europe and by organizing the DeremCo booth. Many thanks as well to AFIL - Associazione Fabbrica Intelligente Lombardia, Origoni Steiner, and Politecnico di Milano for designing and managing our booth. On May 14th, the #DeremCo Standardization Workshop took place in Klagenfurt, Austria, a valuable moment to explore how standardization can support a truly circular economy for fiber-reinforced plastics (FRPs). ♻️🇪🇺 The event brought together key voices from EU institutions, industry, and related projects to discuss strategic pathways, synergies, and ongoing initiatives that will shape the future of composites in Europe. From May 12th to 13th, the #DeremCo project marked a new milestone during our General Assembly in Klagenfurt, Austria! 🇦🇹✨ 🤝 Partners from across Europe came together once again to assess the progress of our work, share ideas, and align strategies to foster circular economy solutions for post-use composite materials and components. We were glad to be joined by Valentina Pinna, our Project Officer from European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), and Niccolò Costantini, Head of Sector for Internal Market and Support to Standardisation at European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), who shared valuable insights and perspectives on the project and its role within the EU innovation ecosystem. 🇪🇺 🔍 One of the main focuses of this assembly was an in-depth discussion on business models that can support the sustainable uptake of these innovations. 🏆 We were also excited to meet the winners of the 1st Open Call and learn more about their project and early results, an inspiring example of how DeremCo supports practical innovation in the field.
