🎉The Hub, a future transportation center in Springfield, Illinois, reached a major milestone this week when the first half of its pedestrian bridge was installed over the Norfolk Southern Corp. tracks. This prebuilt section weighed 231,000 pounds! The second part of the bridge will be installed soon over the future alignment of Union Pacific’s tracks. When The Hub is completed, pedestrians will be able to use this bridge to freely and safely cross between the Sangamon Mass Transit District’s bus transfer center and an Amtrak station and parking garage. #PedestrianBridge #NorfolkSouthern #transportation #engineering
