  • We were thrilled to support Abdul's attendance at the AI_dev Open Source GenAI & ML Summit in Tokyo, hosted by The Linux Foundation. It’s inspiring to see our team engaging directly with industry leaders and bringing back insights that shape how we work with emerging technology. We’re proud to invest in opportunities like this - and glad Abdul also found time to enjoy some of Tokyo’s incredible culture and cuisine along the way! #AIDevSummit #GenAI #MachineLearning #OpenSource #AIInPractice #TechCommunity

It was a pleasure going to AI_dev Open Source GenAI & ML Summit held by The Linux Foundation, so before I forget everything and turn this trip fully into “eating my way through Japan”, here are a few talks that stuck with me: Stefania Druga – “What is Learning in the AI Era?” She opened with a stat that really shocked me: there has been a 46% drop in entry-level tech hiring in the UK. From there, she made a point that stuck out the most: "If ai automates the training required to build expertise, where will people gain expertise?“. The talk made me rethink how I use AI to learn and complete tasks. Going forward, I’m going to make a more intentional effort to put emphasis on the “why” in my prompts, so I’m using AI to deepen my understanding rather than losing the epistemic agency she talked about. Keynote: Linus Torvalds in conversation with Dirk Hohndel I almost missed this one trying to navigate the Tokyo train system, but I am glad I made it. His main interest was the use of LLMs/AI in the code review and maintenance phase of the development workflow and using it to catch issues, spot patterns and keep big codebases healthy, while emphasising the importance of the human in the workflow. Overall, it was awesome hearing all the different ways people are using LLMs in the real world, the tips and tricks they shared for prompting to get better answers, and how teams are using LLMs to automate everyday tasks across different industries. It was also refreshing to hear industry experts taking a grounded realistic view of LLMs/AI, and focusing on practical, day-to-day uses rather than the usual doom and gloom “all the jobs will go” narrative. Big thanks to Red Badger for sending me out here 🙏🏾 (Added some of my favourite pics of my time in Japan, and food I ate😄)

  • It was a real pleasure to host the Rust Nation UK and London Gophers Christmas special meetup at Red Badger HQ this week. The first time we’ve had Crustaceans, Gophers, and Badgers all in the same habitat! We are always blown away by the quality of the discussions, particularly hearing from Viktor Charypar about the latest developments in Crux, the next frontier in cross-platform app development pioneered by our Chief Scientist Stuart Harris. Congratulations to Ernest Kissiedu and Fergus Oakley for all your work in building such fantastic communities. We look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year!

November was a mammoth month at Red Badger and hosting our Partner Day was a real highlight! The day focused on the theme of “Creating Value Together.” It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and plan for an even bigger and better 2026. A big shout out to the amazing partner panel of Parminder Meers Mark Robertson Sam Fogwill and everyone who joined us on the day. • We were delighted to support Phoebe Farrer in attending Future of Work Europe 2025 this week - an event full of forward-thinking ideas on the future of culture, leadership and employee experience. We’re proud to invest in continuous learning and it’s clear that human-centred workplaces are shaping what’s next. #FutureOfWork #EmployeeExperience #PeopleAndCulture #LearningAndDevelopment

✨ I had a fantastic time exploring the future of culture and employee experience at Future of Work Europe 2025 this week. It was invaluable to learn from leaders who are redefining how organisations support their teams and build thriving workplace cultures. 📌 Highlights: ➖ How Remote ran a 48-hour performance cycle with a 95% completion rate: a fascinating look at how Remote has redesigned performance management with a 48-hour review cycle powered by continuous feedback, leadership-led communication, and AI-generated performance summaries. By replacing the traditional manual and time-intensive process with automated insights and monthly check-ins, they cut review time from weeks to two days while achieving a 95% completion rate. The result was a culture shift to continuous feedback that empowers employees. ➖ Panel discussion on the Future of Leadership: an interesting talk that emphasised that authentic leadership is rooted in clarity, genuine communication, and human connection - from sharing personal stories to being transparent in difficult moments. Looking ahead, leaders must balance human strengths with AI, embrace continuous learning, and model the behaviour they once wished for in their own leaders. ➖ Are workplaces keeping pace with fertility & family-building needs?: a powerful session exploring whether today’s workplaces are truly keeping pace with fertility and family-building needs. The presentation highlighted how thoughtful policies, culture shifts and proactive support can strengthen wellbeing, performance and long-term retention for those navigating this life-changing journey A huge thank you to Red Badger for supporting my attendance - investing in learning like this makes all the difference! 💥 #FutureOfWorkEurope #EmployeeExperience #WorkplaceCulture #PersonalDevelopment

  • It was a pleasure to host the UnitedPeoples (UP) team last week to explore what true, humanity-scale change could look like. Our own John Godfrey dove into the potential of embedded finance at scale, a session he will be running again alongside the team in The Hague next Monday! #PurposeDrivenInnovation #EmbeddedFinance #ImpactInvesting #AIForGood

Last week, squeezed between our fabulous Partner Day and Client events, Red Badger hosted UnitedPeoples (UP) for an exploration of how to drive structural change for good - at humanity-scale. Their radically audacious goal is to galvanise 100m+ people for purpose & connection. Enabling ground-up projects with AI, capital flows and inspired personal and professional development. Red Badger works with progressive change makers. UP's Founder R.J (Bob) Westrope, FRSA, Chief of Staff Alexis Duclos and the whole team are as progressive and capable of change making as they come. Jayadeep Nair and I were privileged to be offered an opportunity to unpack the power of embedded finance at scale. We will rerun the session alongside the team in The Hague next Monday. If you're a purpose investor or connector with an appetite for system-wide impact, ping me for details.

  • Our Red Badger team returned from Web Summit 2025 with a clear takeaway: while AI is everywhere and advancing rapidly, the real differentiator is still human-centred design and building trust from the start. Read more about their Web Summit 2025 experience in this great article. • We were delighted that Ryan attended Øredev this year, and it’s been fantastic to hear the insights and inspiration he brought back. It was a treat to get to visit Øredev this year on behalf of Red Badger. Many treats were had. Some say Scandinavia may be the treat capital of the world. I would make an entirely treat centric post about my time there, but I did see some great talks as well. Here’s a couple of bangers: Søren Bramer Schmidt @ Prisma delivered a life changing talk on Unikernels. My mind simply has not stopped thinking “how is this not widely known knowledge !?”. Perhaps it is. Perhaps I am a Multikerneler in a sea of Unikernelers, and I am the last one to the party. No matter, I’m happy to be invited now. Thanks Søren ! Edoardo Dusi @ Storyblok made me rethink compression forever. As I’ve become recently immersed in Swiss German, naturally Brotli was where my heart landed. It was very useful to truly understand the nuts and bolts of gzip, brotli and zstd so I can save people precious milliseconds. In a world where attention span is king, I will sleep well knowing I have done everything I can to capture the almighty attention span with boosted compression performance. Elodie Briefer @ University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet) blew my mind with what academics are cooking in the ML/Audio space. As an Audio Enjoyer myself, I loved getting deep into amplitude, pitch envelope and all that good stuff, but even more was learning about the world around us specifically Ungulates. I do love me a little nature x code collab, but Elodie’s research into deciphering animal emotions using Machine Learning was truly inspirational stuff. I will be rewatching the movie “Babe” with a newly opened understanding of how Babe was feeling. Thanks again to the squad at Red Badger for sending me on the recon mission, and all the great people who brought Øredev together. Can’t wait for next year !

  • We were thrilled that Rachael Rea-Palmer, Red Badger’s Director of Retail and Hospitality, was invited to join the panel at SCAYLE Commerce Engine’s Partner Day to discuss “The how and why of replatforming.” Our partnership with SCAYLE continues to build momentum, and we’re excited for what’s ahead in 2026 and beyond!

Thrilled to have been part of the discussion at last weeks SCAYLE Commerce Engine Partner Day in Hamburg! 🇩🇪 Special thank you to Parminder Meers & Mrdjan (Merge) Uzelac for inviting me to be a part of the panel discussing "How we generate value through replatforming in the current market" In today's dynamic commerce landscape, replatforming isn't just a tech upgrade, it's a crucial strategic move. We delved into how a modular, composable approach allows businesses to accelerate innovation, ensure scalability and optimise TCO. Key takeaway; when replatforming is outcome led with clear objectives, it unlocks measurable value, lower complexity and gives brands the flexibility needed to stay competitive. Thank you to SCAYLE Commerce Engine and all the partners for a day of insightful conversations and great networking! #Replatforming #DigitalCommerce #Scayle #Partnership #eCommerce #TechStrategy

  • Making a Bigger Impact This Winter: Red Badger's Food Drive for Hackney Foodbank With winter arriving and living costs rising, many families are facing immense pressure. At Red Badger, our team wanted to step up and help make a difference. This month, we organised a food drive for Hackney Foodbank, encouraging everyone to get involved - whether by donating physical goods or contributing to a donation pot. We were incredibly proud of our Badgers' generosity! In support, Red Badger matched every employee donation. Together, we donated the combined pot through Bankuet, an organisation that bulk-buys and delivers exactly what food banks need, swiftly and without waste. This allowed our donation to make the biggest impact. It's inspiring to see what we can achieve when we unite for a cause. A huge thank you to our team for their incredible generosity and to Bankuet for their vital work. 👉 If you’re able to, please consider donating to a food bank here: https://lnkd.in/e5FK7Swz #CommunityImpact #GivingBack #FoodDrive #HackneyFoodbank #Bankuet #RedBadger
