Important developments in the leadership of Spring Fair & Autumn Fair - following our Advisory Board meeting today it's clear the future for these shows is very bright indeed! #springfair #autumnfair #GLEE #tradefairs #leadership #retail #gardencentres

Spring Fair and Autumn Fair strengthen leadership teams Spring Fair & Autumn Fair Fair and Autumn Fair have announced a series of senior leadership appointments, Fay Tranter has joined the team as event director of Spring Fair, bringing with her a strong and diverse background spanning B2C and B2B events, marketing, sales, and event leadership. She has also worked in the West End, including a stint with Andrew Lloyd Webber, giving her a unique blend of commercial and creative expertise. Fay said: “Spring Fair has an incredible heritage and a hugely exciting future. I’m thrilled to be joining at such a pivotal moment and look forward to working with the team and the wider industry to build on its strengths, embrace innovation and continue to deliver real value for our communities.” Alongside this appointment, the team has also confirmed leadership plans for Autumn Fair and Glee, following the successful co-location of the two events. While both events retain distinct identities, communities, and sector focuses, the alignment creates an opportunity to strengthen the overall second-half-of-the-year proposition. To support this, Matt Mein has been appointed event director of both Glee and Autumn Fair, ensuring each event continues to deliver clearly defined value for its core audiences while benefiting from closer strategic coordination. Matthew commented: “Glee and Autumn Fair together represent a huge opportunity. Bringing these communities closer will allow us to create a more connected, dynamic and impactful event experience. The growth we’re seeing now, and the strength of the 2026 pipeline, make this an incredibly exciting time to take the next step.” Portfolio director Jackson Szabo added: “As the largest show in the UK, Spring Fair demands year-round strategic focus and dedicated leadership to unlock its full potential. Fay brings a fresh perspective, a wealth of experience, and an infectious energy, and I’m incredibly excited to see how her leadership will help us deliver even greater value for the industry. “With Glee and Autumn Fair coming together, alignment is critical - not just for the shows, but for the sectors they serve. Our ambition is to create environments that genuinely help retailers source better, plan smarter, and build more resilient businesses. Matthew understands the challenges facing the industry and the importance of serving distinct communities well, and that’s exactly what we need as we look to support sustainable retail growth across the UK.” Buyer registration for Spring Fair is currently tracking 20% ahead year-on-year, alongside a 30% increase in new brands, a 10% rise in new exhibitors, and a 20% uplift in international brands. Both Autumn Fair and Glee are currently tracking 20% ahead year-on-year, reflecting strong demand from exhibitors and buyers alike. Collectively, the two events delivered an 8% increase in buyers in 2025, and 80% of the combined floor plan is already sold for 2026.

  • What if your whole team was aligned behind the same experience? Not just the vision on the wall and not just the training on day one. But the behaviours, decisions and priorities that shape every single visitor interaction. That’s exactly what our Visitor Charters do. They bring people, place and purpose into sharp focus, giving teams a shared framework for how experience should feel, how it’s delivered, and how it’s measured. The result? Better consistency, stronger performance, and a noticeable lift in visitor satisfaction. It’s one of the fastest ways we know to improve experience quality and organisational performance, without a capital project in sight. Curious? Let’s talk https://lnkd.in/evechJWK #TheAmbienceArchitects #VisitorExperience #ExperienceDesign #CulturalLeadership #BetterExperiences

SUSTAINABILITY MADE SUSTAINABLE! I'm so proud of Stephen Spencer + Associates' partnership with Distinkt, the sister company of Marka, led by the brilliant entrepreneurs Chiara De Lange Wilson and Robert Bowey. I'm also delighted to read this simple description of what their approach offers organisations who (or need) to be genuinely more sustainable in all they do. When we first met, Chiara and Rob were mainly focused on hospitality; now through our partnership we aim to bring a genuinely sustainable approach to cultural organisations, visitor attractions, and the wider visitor economy too. We start by showing why this is a valuable (if not essential) thing to do, and so we are currently exploring opportunities to measure and demonstrate a positive ROI from more sustainable practices. We'll be sharing more about this soon! #sustainability #sustainabletourism #sustainableretail #roi

🚨 I want to tell you all a bit more about Marka (30 second read). 👇 I'm busy at home today working on the new version of the Marka portal and what we're working on is absolutely game changing for the food & beverage industry. 🍻 Imagine a world where we turn sustainability into a game for people with no prior knowledge and feed it up into comprehensive sustainability reports for big brands, distributors and hospitality groups... That's what we're building. 😮 In a few years Marka will be the most comprehensive and transparent directory of sustainable f&b venues, groups, brands and distributors in the country... And the thing that's really impressive... you'll be able to see exactly what all our businesses are doing to be sustainable in real time with full transparency on our website and for them it's no more complex or difficult than just playing the game 🎮. I'm not sure anybody has made sustainability this exciting and engaging with such a brilliant output before... ✨ So follow us at Marka to see how we're changing the food and beverage industry. #markarating #marka #sustainability #foodandbeverage

It’s January and that’s all about the refresh! We were thinking about what our New Year’s resolutions would be this year. For the team here at SS+A it’s less about changes and more about doubling down on what we know works. That means fewer tick boxes and much better experiences, and in the wild it looks something like… 🎖️ Experiencing quality over quick wins 🕯️ Atmosphere as strategy, not decoration 📖 Retail as storytelling, not transactions ☕ Collaboration over silos 💜 Purpose before polish When experiences are designed with intention, everything else follows. If you’re looking for some fresh eyes for your business then get in touch. Here’s to a more human year. #ExperienceMatters #Ambience #CulturalDesign #VisitorExperience #TheAmbienceArchitects
