  • Next in our Toyota Production System Series: Pokayoke Pokayoke refers to a simple, highly reliable device or method that helps prevent mistakes or detect them immediately, so defects do not move forward. The goal is to design processes so that only the correct action can occur, or the process stops when something is off. While the concept of fail‑safe design existed for many years, it was formalized through Shigeo Shingo’s work at Toyota. Poka‑yoke can be as straightforward as a fixture that only allows parts to be assembled one way, or a sensor that prevents a machine from running under abnormal conditions. Today, it broadly includes any approach that helps prevent errors or identify abnormal conditions before or after processing. By building these safeguards into the process, teams can improve quality at the source, reduce rework and waste, and maintain smooth, reliable flow. Food for thought: Where in your workflow could you design a simple fail‑safe that helps prevent errors instead of catching them later? 🤔

  • Earlier this year, Toyota Texas team members volunteered at the Girls Inc. RockIT Into The Future Science Festival, inspiring students through learning in engineering, robotics, and problem-solving. Through interactive, hands-on activities, participants explored STEM concepts in an engaging environment while connecting with professionals dedicated to innovation and education. Toyota Texas is proud to support opportunities that inspire curiosity and foster future careers in STEM. Events like this strengthen community connections while encouraging the next generation of engineers, problem solvers, and leaders. We look forward to the continued impact of this event when it returns next year! Curious about tech career opportunities at Toyota? • The Toyota Red Cruisers, Toyota Motor Corporation’s official corporate baseball team, recently traveled to Northern Alabama for the Rocket City Global Baseball Series, strengthening connections through sport, culture, and community alongside the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The experience did not stop at the ballpark. The team visited Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama for a behind-the-scenes look at advanced manufacturing. From seeing how nearly 1.5 million engines and differentials are built each year to learning how they help power almost half of Toyota vehicles in North America, the visit connected performance on the field to innovation on the line. With a $1.7 billion investment and 25 years of growth alongside the Huntsville community, the visit connected teamwork, innovation, and impact in one unforgettable experience.

  • Anticipation is building at Toyota Texas as our new rear axle plant prepares to launch this fall. The 500,000-square-foot facility is already taking shape with advanced equipment installation and initial testing underway. Recently, we welcomed local government officials, chamber leaders, and media representatives for an exclusive look at the progress. This investment is expected to create over 400 jobs and will support rear axle assembly for the Toyota Tundra, Sequoia, and Tacoma. When fully operational in 2027, Toyota Texas will become both a unit plant and a vehicle plant on a single campus, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and long-term growth.

  • For this #ToyotaTechTuesday, find out what really happens when a vehicle gets flipped upside down. 🔄 At Toyota R&D, cars go through real world crash scenarios and are then rotated 360 degrees on a car rotisserie, stopping every 90 degrees to check for fuel leaks in gas vehicles and ensure high voltage systems stay protected in hybrid and electric models. Every angle tells a story, and every detail matters. Watch it all in action and see how safety is tested from every side!

  • For 35 years, Toyota Missouri has been driving innovation from the ground up. The dedicated team has cast aluminum cylinder heads that serve as the “lungs of the vehicle” for Toyota’s popular internal combustion and hybrid engine vehicles like the Tundra, Camry, and Corolla. With more than 1,000 team members assembling over 2 million cylinder heads each year, it’s a legacy built on sustainability, quality, and precision. This milestone is a testament to the dedication, skill, and passion of the team members who make it all possible every day. Here’s to 35 years of powering the journey forward and to the people behind it! #ToyotaMissouri #LifeAtToyota
