We built a Shop Mini, 🧺 Picnic Gift Registry - and it just got featured in a Shopify roundup! ➡️ The feature: https://lnkd.in/gJZaxgna ➡️ Open Picnic in the Shop app: https://lnkd.in/gtSdwwVR Picnic lets Shop users turn their collections / wishlists into shareable gift registries. Friends and family can then reserve items and purchase them directly inside the Shop app. What was meant to be a bit of “time off” a couple of weeks ago turned into speed-building a Shop Mini with Gabrielle Rea, and building the backend on Gadget. 😅 We genuinely couldn’t have moved this fast without having a backend that’s basically ready out of the box (praise be for one-click deploys). Shop Minis are essentially mini apps inside the Shop app. I've started seeing more of this pattern of 'apps within apps' pop up (Shop Minis, WeChat Mini Programs, Telegram Mini Apps, Shopify's Tinker, Wabi, Whop, Roblox...). I don’t think I fully understand where this trend is going - but it feels like a shift toward more focused, embedded experiences... and platform lock-in?
Great job that’s awesome! It’s been hard to think of ideas even for this but cool to see all the apps being built. Super great idea!
It caught my eye when looking through the mini’s - so much bad branding and obscure functionality in there, but this stood out. I did have one issue which I’ll DM you on, but kudos for getting it live. Interesting space for sure
Could this possibly replace Linkpop? 🤔
This is so cool! Whenever I see an update from you two, just know I'm rooting for you on the sidelines 🎉 yay picnic! 🧺
Exciting work! The rise of mini apps really highlights how platforms are moving toward seamless, embedded experiences while redefining user engagement.
forgiven for missing lunch - this is incredible!
Congrats, this is awesome 👏 Shop Minis is exactly where we’ve been looking too, but we still haven’t heard back about new SDK access 😅 Guess our idea didn’t make the cut (yet).
