**From localhost to the cloud. ** A few days ago, this Netflix Clone was running only on my local machine. Today, it's deployed on an AWS EC2 instance, containerized with Docker, and accessible through a web browser. It may look like a simple deployment, but behind it were hours of learning: Understanding Docker images and containers Working with Linux commands Connecting to AWS EC2 using SSH Configuring security groups and networking Running the application with Docker and troubleshooting deployment issues until everything worked Every error message taught me something new, and every successful command brought me one step closer to understanding how modern applications are deployed. This project wasn't just about cloning Netflix—it was about learning the technologies that power real-world cloud applications. "If Docker already runs containers, why do we need Kubernetes?" This was one of the first questions I asked when I started learning cloud technologies. At first, I thought Kubernetes was just another tool for running containers. After spending some time building small labs, I realized it's much more than that. What impressed me the most wasn't creating Pods or Deployments. It was seeing how Kubernetes automatically keeps applications running even if a Pod fails. Instead of fixing things manually, the platform works to maintain the desired state. I'm still learning concepts like: - Pods - Deployments - Services - ReplicaSets - ConfigMaps Every lab gives me a better understanding of how modern cloud applications are managed. There's still a lot to learn, but that's what makes the journey exciting. 15 years ago, my friends and parents asked me a question: "Can you update my Windows?" Today the question is the same. Only now it is about Kubernetes. Tolgee Cloud is run on a managed Kubernetes cluster on Microsoft Azure. It was still on 1.27, which is out of support. Our region left us only one path: jump straight to 1.33. Six minor versions in one step. I am not a DevOps engineer, so this was a real challenge for me. Claude Code helped me a lot here: reading errors, checking version rules, and rehearsing the whole thing on a throwaway minikube cluster before touching production. Infra upgrades do not get cheaper when you postpone them. They only get bigger.
