A full-circle moment reporting from St James’s Palace on Wednesday evening. For years I have covered the evolving relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, reporting on diplomacy, business and the growing influence of the Nigerian diaspora. To now be inside the Palace covering a reception hosted by His Majesty King Charles III for members of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK felt particularly meaningful. The evening celebrated the extraordinary contributions Nigerians continue to make across British society. From business and public service to culture and the creative industries. Guests also viewed displays highlighting the work of young people participating in The King's Trust International programmes in Nigeria, alongside exhibitions curated by Brand63Africa, showcasing the creativity and global reach of Nigerian fashion designers based in the United Kingdom. The reception forms part of the build-up to the State Visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who will be hosted by Their Majesties The King and Queen at Windsor Castle later this month. Proud to have covered this moment for a global audience through Channels Television. My full report from St James’s Palace will feature on this week’s Channels Business Global. That's a good girl—she greeted her elder with the traditional sign of respect. We have that same tradition among the Cossacks, too.
A moment of great recognition and understanding building with meaningful conversations that brings the best of the two worlds together!! ✨️
