We're also introducing Amrita’s new Summit Series. Our first takes place in February, focusing on longevity, metabolism, and GLP-1s – bringing together multiple partners around one topic in one place. Key Insights from the Amrita Nutrition UK Nutrition Conference "Ahead of the Decline": Preventative Approaches to Neurodegeneration The statistics are sobering: ·      982,000 people in the UK currently live with dementia, projected to reach 1.4 million by 2040.   ·      225,000 people will develop dementia this year. That's one every three minutes. But the message that was reiterated again is that cognitive decline is not inevitable — and prevention starts long before symptoms appear. Some of the key insights shared: ✅ Dementia is a growing global epidemic. Current treatments remain largely symptomatic, underlining the urgent need for prevention. ✅ Hormonal health plays a critical role — thyroid dysfunction, for example, has been shown to significantly increase dementia risk and can mimic early Alzheimer’s changes in the brain. ✅ Oral health matters more than we think.
