Hey there,

This is my entry for this year's AIM event. I think it has a super cool theme and I really like it :)

I was originally planning to make some dark ambient / synthwave-ish music, but then I stumbled upon this illustration by @SupNovaGY while browsing Newgrounds during class (I know, I am in fact very studious).

I instantly fell in love with it, and it reminded me of a project I had started a few days prior using a melody that I had lying around for some time.

I decided to check what I had composed, and I felt I could make this work (despite never producing that type of music before), so I repurposed the original idea and reworked it to try capturing the emotions I wanted to transmit.

I hope you'll like it.

In the meantime, I'll go read the AIM rules again to make sure I didn't fuck up somewhere lol.

Honestly, I don't even want first place. I wasn't "AIM"ing for it if you will x)

I just want to be featured on the really cool AIM physical album !

I'm waiting to see if my submission will be valid, but I might have to make another entry as it seems I forgot to make that song on a new project (therefore, it appears as made before AIM started).

This might disqualify my entry, so I'm waiting to see what the judge say. if that happens, I'll probably go back to my original dark song idea (I'd need to fin an illustration for it first though).

Naaah, your illustration was just way too good :)

Usually, when I see an illustration I like, I put it as a favourite and move on with my day. If I really enjoy it, I eventually put it in a Newgrounds playlist or its link in a discord channel.

This one stuck with me and I kept remembering it for over a month, to the point that I went out of my comfort zone and made something I had never done before. I guess it really resonated with me.

It's really cool that there's a contest like AIM to push people to try new things, this makes me wonder if they'll bring back the Music-inspired art contest someday :D

Also, if you want to listen to it in the future, I guess I could upload it on Youtube, Soundcloud and Spotify when I have the time ^^
