Racing through the city and all of its eclectic vibes.

Here’s our submission for the 4th Round of the NGMC, which challenged contestants to create a racing-themed track fitting of an urban environment. So we went for some atmospheric DnB, with soloistic synth runs and a stylish piano 2-5-1. With each of us working in our own strong suits, we created a piece that speaks to each of our musical sounds!

Hope you all enjoy.

Would throw this over some Tokyo Extreme Racer. Keep it up!

OVERSCORE responds:

Cool, thanks for listening!

very nice and chill score, love the bells
Some more sidechaining could make parts like 01:10 sound less clicky
The bass sounds inconsistent, which may stem from phasing or a sound design issue
The track needs a better volume balance between the main and sub elements, most notably during the intermezzo

Quality: 5/10
Race: 5/10
Theme: 4/10

Omg this is beautiful. Y'all cooked fr. My only remark is the piano solo is processed really raw in the mix, which isn't the most satisfying listen. I always love me some good ol dnb though!

OVERSCORE responds:

Thanks 3manon! Solacitude added a second layer on the piano solo for clarity, but you’re right, it could definitely have been integrated a bit better into the mix.

I felt like this might be the next ridge racer soundtrack

OVERSCORE responds:

Sounds like we hit the theme then, thanks!

The texture in this beat is out of this world! I wouldn't consider myself a huge dnb guy but this is seriously cool

OVERSCORE responds:

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere :)
