Welp, this round has been carried by the Benis man himself :)

Addendum : Ahem, HOLY SHIT WE FREAKING WON WTFFFF

I honestly didn't get to do much because Benji cooked real hard by himself, so I only contributed a couple of ideas here and there.

It's 2 am and he doesn't have access to his PC, so I had to finish the song over the original mp3 (which means this is a very lossy one).

Either way, follow this lad, because this is some sick cinematic music !

Damn, this is an awesome song!

Congrats mates!

Congratulations to first place guys! This is actually so sick

I like the rich atmosphere, nature sound effects, and warm strings towards the beginning. The piece has a nice cinematic flair and a rich, well-balanced texture. The string melodies at :50 or so sound punchy and defiant. The production quality is excellent, and the piece also has a great sense of pacing - squeezing out anticipation of the climax I know is coming, but not dragging it out too long either. It’s a little hard to follow the rhythm at 1:33 at first, but I like the injection of energy there a lot, as well as the cello solo thereafter.

The high-pass filter on the percussion is a tad too strong for my tastes at times, and the section at 2:00-2:20 or so is a good example of that. But I love the four-on-the-floor beat at 2:37 (you make that work surprisingly well for an orchestral piece!) and the breakdown at 2:55. The main melodic contour at 2:55 gets a bit repetitive towards the end, but the new melodies at 3:21 are great, and I love the prominent role the choir has there too.

Despite my nitpicking, this is really strong work, fellas. You really sold the drama well, the sound design and melodies are top-notch, and despite some minor balance issues (I wanted to hear WAY more of the violin arpeggios at 2:45) the mixing and mastering are really strong. Thanks for coming out to the NGUAC, and best of luck with running the NGADM! ^_^
