I'm gonna be a little late on my entry :( Still doing linework
What quality content! It's all super inspiring, great job everyone!
I'm just about half way done with linework. This is gonna be a tough deadline to hit.

That's some good shit right there! Great job everyone!
Anyone else having a tough time coming up with a solid idea? I'm kinda stumped.
It turned into a mad rush at the end but I made it. I can't wait to watch everyone's entries tomorrow!!

Hells yeah!
This sounds like a crazy awesome idea, and I'm all for it. I'd also like to toss my vote in for 2 weeks per theme. Quality over quantity and all that. We could also set up a system where there's a new theme every week, but everyone gets 2 weeks to complete whatever theme the initially go with? That might just turn into people making a thing a week though.
I'm honored and humbled. Thank you!
kkots pretty much sums it up. Do a little 30 sec vid, or make a couple paintings, or a comic to recharge.
Actually, re-sizing swf files in swivel won't lower their quality because flash is a vector based program, you can screw with the drawings as much as you like and they'll retain their quality...
That's super cool, and I had no idea! I'll have to remember this for the future.

This. Always this. Up-rezing your work in any capacity will lower the quality so you might as well animate big.
Y'know, if trump did take over, this would probably be how we'd all react anyway. I love it!
This contest and this thread is super awesome, and I wish I could've participated. You guys fuggin rock.

God I hate that place, I'd love to live in SF, though.
Las Vegas is pretty shitty too, it's fun for about 2-3 days but I'd fucking hate to live there.
Also, anywhere in Arizona. Too fucking hot.
I'm a little disappointed LA wasn't added to the list sooner. What a dump.

I had high hopes for NG. I was really liking it, and now this happens. Tom, from the bottom of my heart, I want to offer the most sincerest of thanks. The only way NG could get any better was if it was fused with Google+ and like some kind of April 1st miracle it's come true. Tonight I drink to the health, of NG+. To what address can I send my first born as thanks?
I recently made the conversion from flash to toon boom, and while I've gotten my feet wet, I'm a little wary of diving head first into the deep end of rigging in tb. I'm pretty comfortable in the network, and I've been able to do some really awesome stuff, but rigging a full character seems ambitious (plus there's something about frame replacement or something?)
I just want to see how many toonboomers are out there who might be able to lend some in-sight.
Woah!! Thank you all who voted, and great job everyone who won! I'm really humbled to be counted among such great content!
As a rule of thumb, try to make everything at a bare minimum of 12 fps. And move the hips, she kind of looks like she's pinned to something behind her.
There sure is some hearty discussion going on here.
But in all seriousness, a like system would be kinda fun. Maybe make it customizable so people can upload their own images for like/dislike. Where one user might have the stiffest of ding dongs, someone else could have a jelly donut.

I've only heard rumors though. Thanks for your input. ToonBoom is kind of intimidating as a beginner, haha. I'll look into older versions of Flash and the prices and such. Everyone seems to swear by Flash, so I guess I'll put some more effort into learning the basics.
So do you draw every frame from scratch, or do you sometimes just modify previous frames to save time? Just wondering, I find it interesting.
By the way, I loved your Captain Toad animation, that was good stuff man.
Thank you! I'm happy to hear that. Also, while I normally re-draw everything, I'll sometimes modify frames. In the same vein, there's a hand drawn technique the old Disney guys came up with that allowed the artist to easily make the absolute perfect in-between called "lift and trace" where you take the paper off the pegbar, and re-align things to get one drawing immediately on top of another. I'd recommend looking it up but be warned, I wanted to lift and trace just about everything after I learned about it.
Not necessarily for OP but anyone in the market for an upgrade:
While it's kinda weird at first, you can def adjust to the tablet pretty quick. Also, please don't buy a cintiq. It's a great tool, and it's the best there is out there, but it's a bit of a rip off. You can get a yiynova 19+ that's just as good for under $600. It's standard definition format, and it has fewer pixles, but for an artist on a budget the trade off is so worth it. I've worked on both and the differences are negligible. Wacom can get away with charging that much because up until recently, they were the only one's making screen tablets, and at this point and time, I can't justify the slight quality change for 4x the price.
I digress!

Ha ha! We barely made a game that WORKS. I got all the art assets done for it, and the programming team is looking to keep going, so we'll see! I'll convince everyone to post a playable version here if we finish though.

I'm a fan of the taste too, but even a single cup of weak coffee gives me the shakes (goodbye straight lines). I need a replacement tasty beverage for these cold winter months.
