The biggest event in the Audio Portal this month was the Audio Portal 20th Anniversary Collab, organized by @ThatJohnnyGuy and @VoicesByCorey! This collab had 87 participants and 60 instrumental pieces. Give it a listen if you haven’t already!



@Tangerine transported us to the Tinkerer’s Workshop.



@Jakki envisioned a difficult journey through the desert in this chill atmospheric piece.



@POSTELVIS made a groovy song for the Rolus in the Outskirts demo.



@BeyondOurEyes tapped @Metaljonus to make some power metal.



@Troisnyx and MasterHand4444 teamed up for this powerful piece of the AP Anniversary Collab.



@Slintas shared some breathtaking synthwave in March. If you like synthwave, go to his page right now and listen to it all!



@samlrc made a theme for Sheep.



@cysteke and @Aalasteir expounded on the joys of voting five and crowned a new King of the Portal.

Closing Thoughts


Thank you everyone who participated in March! The Audio Portal Anniversary Collab was a big highlight of the month, thank you everyone who contributed to making it happen! We also saw a lot of impressive animation in March and that trend has been continuing in April.


With Q1 of 2023 in the bag, I’ve taken a first stab at updating the NG History page to include the past three months.

@NoMoreChie, @shleptboi and @RGPAnims are hosting a Dreamcast Collab with an application deadline of April 16th, unless this was really it.


The Short Story Contest deadline is April 15th!


April 20th is the deadline for our Flash Forward Jam.


The Art-Inspired Music Contest begins on April 21st!


@DannyGoodShirt is also hosting a Pico Day Writing Contest with a May 5th deadline!


Pico Day is May 6th and we hope to release our big Art Portal update a week ahead. Wish us luck! Or more specifically, wish @PsychoGoldfish luck!

Congrats to all the game devs for another great month of games! I feel like my favorites were mostly in tune with everyone else this month: I can't win at Auto Necrochess or JelloTetrix but there's something about them that are incredibly addicting and fun! If you've got a taste for weird games, considering checking out Complot which was my favorite this month!


I was a bit rough on it due to its current buggy build, but fans of Nyghtmare: The Ninth King should consider checking out the itch.io build which apparently has been updated thanks to all the feedback we gave!


Speaking of giving feedback, we've got some promising demos or WIPs that could use as much feedback as possible, so give 'em a look:





Looking forward to the upcoming Flash Forward Game Jam! The advancements in Ruffle technology have been great to witness!

The Audio Portal Anniversary collab was probably one of my favorite projects I've ever worked on. I met and worked with a ton of cool people (like Troi, as featured in the audio listing), and I got to be apart of NG history in such a special way. Thank you to everyone who listened to the collab, thank you Tom for highlighting it so frequently, and thank you especially to the organizers for putting it all together.


Can't wait to keep improving my musical ability. I'm super excited for everyone to hear the ideas I have a-brewing in my head.

Hey Tom, to keep something in my mind, may you update Newgrounds so that when supporter is expired and after the expiration that stay custom PFP frames, are you interested? I'm not going to force you, your choice.


EXAMPLE:

If you got or bought Supporter, you have custom PFP frame, after your Supporter membership expires, custom PFP frames stay the same


Thoughts?
