Wow, this is pretty cool! I love me a good boss rush and this definitely hits that sweet spot with some really unique boss patterns, a combat system with cool moves like deflects and strategic use of scrap either for offense or defense, and the cherry on top being the very slick and stylish presentation. It made for a very nice short and sweet experience!
That said, while I did enjoy my time with it, it was difficult to love it at first because the game does have a rather rough feel to it: while I can point to some aspects such as the wonky hitboxes which can lead to some confusion, and the sound effects being rather muted and unsatisfying, the biggest issue for me was the hitstop/freeze.
Don't get me wrong, I love some hitstop/freeze as it can really make impacts feel awesome, but this game has waaaaayyyyy too much of it that it veers from feeling good to feeling like the game is stuttering or glitching, and even causing it to drop inputs. It was to the point where I unconsciously didn't want to reflect bullets or fire a fully charged scrap ball because it would annoyingly freeze the game! The phrase "too much of a good thing" comes to mind.
So yeah, for the most part, it's awesome, but definitely could use some polishing up. Would love to see more games like this in future!
